Narathiwat - Second Buddhist killed, body burned

    Second Buddhist killed, body burned

Southern extremists shot and killed a 70 year old Buddhist man as he rode his motorcycle, then set his body on fire in the second such atrocity in less than a week.

Police said the elderly man was shot three times and killed as he was going home from the market in Narathiwat province.

The gruesome murder is certain to spark more protests against the Islamist gangs responsible for the killings - and against the government for failing to stop the killings.

On Monday, Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont is to fly to Yala province to attend the burial rites of Patcharaporn Bunmak, who was killed last week and her body burned - possibly while she was still alive.

Largely Buddhist demonstrations in southern cities have demanded action from the government against the insurgents.

    A defense-less elderly man...damn anything is game.

A bit off topic, but it reminds me of reading a story. I remember reading on CNN, right near my hometown in Queens, NY, someone tried robbing a 90 (or round about) year old lady. The lady turned around and shot the 20 year old robber - love hearing about stories like these!

But, more on topic, what is the reason behind the burning people? Harder to find or identify when charred?

You just don't understand, Sabang, do you.

The only way to deal with these frothing-at-the-mouth raghead Muslim maniacs is to kill them alllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (or so some here would have us believe)

    Degrees of barbarity?

How about the army loading scores of people into a truck and letting them die slowly . . .

I don't think comparing modes of killing does anyone any good, and it certainly is no differentiator.

The 'armed' thugs on both sides are equally nasty.

sorry mate can't agree with you on this one,

muslim extemists seem to revel in public beheadings burning people, even some time broadcasting thier achievements on the net, however i do not see that type of revelment and sense of achievement from any others do you.

can you imagine if a thai killed and then set fire to a cleric then had the audacity to broadcast it on the net, the world wide reprocussions. remember the cartoon episode and the backlash that caused and that was just a drawing.

every thing is too one sided.

I don't want to play devil's advocate or anything but which news source are you taking all your information from? If its in Thailand, i.e. BKK Post, etc., of course all the news is going to be about only one side of the story...

    generalized, globewise.
and yes the news out of thailand is a bit one sided, however taking into account the news from almost all the sources i read, i still do not see public beheadings and burning of muslims and broadcasting from other religions, [ they may do it to one another though ]

there seems to be tolerance from most people but zero tolerance from our muslim counterparts,

The media is just biased, they are withholding the tens of thousands of killing of Muslims world wide and just broad cast the killings that the Muslims perpetrate in order to give the peace loving Muslims a bad reputation---YEP, THAT'S WHAT IT IS-- A CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE MUSLIMS
