A 21-year-old gang leader who works as a municipal officer at Laem Chabang was arrested for shooting at a gang of teens and injuring two people. He was angry because his gang was beaten in a fight that erupted during an earlier football game.
LAEM CHABANG – January 30, 2013 [PDN]; at 5 p.m., the arrest of a suspect for shooting at a rival gang was announced by Pol. Lt. Col. Tharathep Tupanich, Deputy Superintendent, Laem Chabang police station; with the investigation officer and police team.
The suspect was identified as Mr. Thonsak or Tom Phiromkhloy, age 21, nicknamed “Tom Municipal Officer,” because he is the municipal officer of Laem Chabang. The suspect was arrested at 10:30 that morning, for allegedly shooting at rival gang members on the night of January 29.
Earlier that day, Mr. Thonsak’s subordinates were beaten by a rival gang after playing a game of football. So Mr. Thonsak decided to confront the gang. He drove his white Yamaha Meo motorbike and parked on the side of the road on route 9 kilo-Sahaphat, in front of the community on the side of the railroad at Huay Lek, Moo 11 Tambon Thoongsukkhala, Amphur Sriracha.
The rival group of teenagers were sitting at the beginning of the soi. So Mr. Thonsak took out his semi-automatic Sig Sauer pistol, 11 mm caliber, and used it with to rake the teenagers with gunfire. He peppered the group with 7 shots from his unregistered pistol, injuring two people.
After making trouble, he then drove his motorbike to escape to his relatives’ house in Pattaya. But after being notified, the police rushed to followed up to arrest him, and nabbed him in a rental room with no address near Nong Yai temple in Pattaya.
After his arrest, Mr. Thonsak confessed to shooting at the rival gang, which he said was in retaliation for an earlier fight. Mr. Thonsak explained that his subordinates are a group of teenagers in the Huay Lek community. They had played football with the group of teenagers of the other side of the railroad in the community.
However, they got into a quarrel with the rival group. But Mr. Thonsak’s subordinates could not fight against the rivals and were beaten up. After they told Mr. Thonsak what happened afterwards, he became furious.
So he took his gun and drove the motorbike from his house to confront the rival group. But they started throwing many objects at him, so he raked the group with gunfire before driving away. Then he was later arrested by police.

Out of interest what sort of length of time is he likely to serve for this?
It just seems that this sort of crap happens all the time and that the consequences might be laughable.
