Chatchawan Jindapraglai, a student at Pathum Thani Technology School (P-Tech), was shot nine times near a bus stop as he tried to flee from a group of students from rival Pathum Thani Technology College (PTTC).

Police said they used images provided by a security camera near the crime scene to identify all five suspects as 16- to 18-year-old PTTC first and second year students.

A home-made shotgun, two machetes, and two motorbikes used to commit the crime were seized as evidence, police said.

The alleged shooter said that the victim and his friend provoked the shooting by challenging them to fight, so he used the gun, given to him by a friend who had previously graduated from the college, to shoot Chatchawan.

Police have urged the two educational institutions to enforce strict regulations regarding students' possession of weapons and have set up security checkpoints along routes used by students to travel to and from school.

All suspects were charged with conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of weapons and will be sent to a juvenile prison.

Three more suspects remain at large.

Student killed by rivals after bike breaks down

PATHUM THANI - A 17-year-old Pathum Thani Technology School (P-Tech) student was murdered on Tuesday after his motorcycle broke down in front of a bus stop full of students from the rival Pathum Thani Technology College (PTTC).

There is fierce rivalry between P-Tech and PTTC, with students from both colleges constantly involved in brawls and gunfights, a report said.

The victim's friend, 18, said both of them were on a motorbike heading to college. The bike broke down and soon afterwards PTTC students waiting for a bus nearby came at them with knives and guns in hand.

His friend was then shot as they were trying to escape. A taxi drove by and honked at the students causing them to flee the scene, he said.

The taxi driver rushed the wounded teen to a nearby hospital, where he died soon after, according to police.

Police said they have already identified all of the students involved and will track them down. They have also advised parents of these students to turn their children in.

The body of the 17-year-old will undergo further medical examination to determine the exact cause of death, police added.

What is it with these Thai tech college students?

Again and again they make their name in the news with yet another murderous conflict.

Pistols, home made ping-pong ball bombs and guns, an assortment of machetes, slashers, hatchets, knives and clubs are carried around apparently quite routinely by these obviously spoilt and privileged teenage thugs and with blatant impunity.

They travel in packs on both public and private transport, and imtimidate all who are within their vicinity with their totally insane one eyed attitude towards eliminating their perceived rivals, usually from another technical college.

Often these hoodlums asre in a technical or engineering college because a relative is a technician or engineer, and these elder role models are the pattern that the younger generation aspire to become and model their murderous behaviour upon.

There's a case this week where a lecturer from an engineering college was sentenced to around 13 years jail for shooting dead a food vendor who'd urinated in a canal outside the lecturer's home.

This particular murderer apparently felt entitled to kill manother man for some perceived slight.
This man is also one of the role models that the aspiring younger generation of engineers and technicians wish to emulate.

When is Thailand going to grow up and set a positive, adult, and rational example to its children?

I doubt that it ever will as long as the system of hierarchic hi-so privilege with all its deceitful back-stabbing corrupt methods of administration that is worshiped and protected by most of the population continues.

Rot starts at the top and trickles unchecked all the way down, to pool and collect at the bottom, where the younger generation absorbs the whole stinking philosophy of privileged hierarchic impunity and exercise it with vehemence. No doubt, of course, approved of by their doting mothers and generationally violence habituated fathers, who are too inebriated and conditioned to their luxury seeking lifestyles to be able to think, let alone do something positive about the mess.

    Only in Thailand.

    Holy hell, what a land.
