Mason completes 900km bike ride to Bangkok
He’s done it.
James Mason, who lost over 100kg when he moved to Tiger Muay Thai & MMA Training Camp Phuket, Thailand, has successfully travelled 870km from Phuket to Bangkok on a bicycle.
Mason started his journey at TMT on Tuesday, January 29 and rode into Bangkok on Wednesday, February 6 at the Rainbow House, an orphanage for abandoned disabled children run by For Life Thailand.
The event is even more impressive when you realize that Mason nearly lost his leg to a flesh eating bacteria in 2010.
Thanks to the “Bike-A-Thon 4 Life Thailand” Just Giving donation page, over B56,000 (over £1,212.10) was raised from people all over the world, with additional money raised through sponsorships. The final total is yet to be calculated.
Mason went through the journey with two friends following him in a truck, carrying supplies, a spare mountain bike, and an emergency kit.
