The Forgetful Offender of Jomtien
At 1.45 am on 10th March, the Dongtan Police were informed by Mr. Chairat, aged 29, a vendor of Jomtien Soi 3, that his parked pickup truck had been hit and the offender disappeared.
Mr. Chairat stated that he usually parks his truck in front of Soi 3 since he sells food there. He only knows that the offender is called Dam.
On that day, Dam drove his pickup out of Soi 3, turning to head for Chaiyapruek Road and hit the rear of Mr. Chairat’s pickup. Dam came down to tell him that he would take care of it. While Mr. Chairat was inspecting his truck, he turned around to find Dam already gone – leaving his truck in the middle of the road. About two hours passed by but Dam never returned. Mr. Chairat worried that it might cause more accidents informed the police.
After investigating, it was found that Dam hired a motorbike taxi to take him home, so the police asked the motorbike driver to go get him. The team found that Dam’s house was locked and he was already sleeping inside. No one could wake him so they left.
The police took Dam’s truck back to the station and asked Mr. Chairat to make a report as evidence. The police said that Dam will probably come to contact the police after he wakes up to notify them that his truck has been stolen.
