He was later found and captured, although he cut his uncle’s leg with the knife during the struggle. RAYONG – October 22, 2012 [PDN]: at 6 p.m., a report of a crazed man trying to burn his house was received by Pol. Col. Athik Lapanuparp, the director of Bankai police station. He rushed to the scene with police forces. When police arrived at the scene in Nonglakork, Bankai, they discovered the man had locked himself in his house. He was identified as Mr. Aphai, age 37. The police colonel coordinated with two fire trucks from the subdistrict administrative organization of Nonglalork, which were ready to spray water in case the man tried to burn the house. The police tried to convince Mr. Aphai to open the door, but he instead ran out of the house with a gas tank and burnt his house right after that. Then he ran into the rubber forest with a chopping knife. Meanwhile the fire trucks immediately began spraying water to stop the fire. Then the authorities dispersed forces to find Mr. Aphai, because they were afraid that he could cut himself or passersby. After about 30 minutes, officers found the deranged man in an exhausted state, with the knife in his hand. The sick man’s uncle, Mr. Chuchart, charged his nephew to disarm him, and was cut in his leg. Then the volunteers and residents tried to catch and step on Mr. Aphai, pinning his arms and legs until he could not move. Then they sent him to the detective team in Bankai to prosecute.
