Police crack a major drug dealing ring with the help of a former gang member.
On Thursday Night, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai from Pattaya Police Station received information from an 18 year old woman regarding her involvement in a drug dealing gang operating in Pattaya. She admitted her involvement in the gang but had wanted to stop working with them for some time. Due to threats of violence if she did stop and allegations of previous assaults she decided that her only option was to give up information on the gang to Police who later conducted an operation at the Sirindar Village in Jomtien. A total of 5 suspects were arrested, 4 were found in the village but the alleged gang leader, Khun Gomon aged 45 was detained on the Sukumvit Road. A total of 1,600 Yabba Tablets were seized from the gang leader who was also found to be carrying a loaded firearm. The group, including two alleged customers who were in the process of purchasing drugs were taken to Pattaya Police Station and further investigations are taking place as Police attempt to shut down this particular drug dealing network.

One Of The Biggest Drug Godfathers Nabbed In Brilliant Pattaya Police Operation

ONE OF THE BIGGEST DRUG GODFATHERS NABBED IN BRILLIANT PATTAYA POLICE OPERATION

At 8 am on 9th March , Police Colonel Sutin Sappuong received a phone call from Mrs. Num-oil Sirimongkol (38) residing at 105 Moo 6, U-tai Thanee Province in Central Thailand that her daughter Ms Na-ree Nongkai (18), a Coyote dancer at Tony’s Pub and Entertainment Center in Walking St. was misled into the belief that she was to be the wife of a rich Thai man, whom she later discovered to be a drug godfather.

Following this tip off, the police went to search her residence, a house with no number, behind Thai Hee Temple, Moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamung. The police found Ms Na-ree who ran out from her room into the arms of the police, simultaneously indicating a Thai man, Phrasan Toomdee, (19) residing at 161 Moo 7, Prachar Sooksan sub-district, Lankabeu district, Kampangpetch Province, one of the drug gang.

The police interrogated Phrasan, and following information given to them, went to his room, number 297/4 Sukhumvit, Soi 60, Pattaya. In front of the room, the police found a CCTV hidden in a plant pot and in the room they found Mr. Phrasan’s wife, Ms Nipaporn Nuankum (22) from Prae Province, a go-go dancer, Searching her purse, they found a straw containing 22 yah bah (amphetamine) tablets and the paraphernalia used for ingesting it.

The couple confessed that they were members of the gang of an individual named Khun Paw (Godfather). That day, they were acting on instructions from Khun Paw to pick up Ms Na-ree from South Pattaya and take her to her house to get her motorcycle and then deliver her to where the Godfather was waiting in a pick-up in Central Pattaya Road.

The police instructed them to continue their errand and then followed them, discreetly. They subsequently met Khun Paw, Mr. Komon Prasert (45), living at 71/15 Moo 5 Sumnaktorn sub-district, Baan Chang District, Rayong Province, who was sitting in a Chevrolet pick-up, (number 2154, Bangkok plate), that he had rented from South Pattaya Car Rental. On searching his vehicle, the police found 1,620 yah bah tablets hidden under the consol and 44,300 Baht in cash. The Godfather had no other choice, but to confess to possession.

On further interrogation, the police learnt that the Godfather had obtained the drugs from Mr. Noi, a Cambodian at Sakaew, on the Arranyaphratet border. The Godfather had been using his rented pick-up to collect 3,200 tablets, of which he had delivered 1,600 to Mr. Yodkoon Mokmehk (30), his lieutenant., who would further distribute them.

The police then swooped upon Mr. Yodkoon’s house, 451/71, in Sirinda Village, Moo 12, Nahjomtien. At his two-storey town house, the police found the door secured, with three motorcycles parked in the car park. On the 2nd Floor balcony, they saw 2 CCTV cameras, so the police decided to raid the house, immediately.

On entering, they found another CCTV in the front hall and yet another behind the house. They went to the upstairs, which had 2 bedrooms. In the first room, they found a shaking Mr. Yodkoon being cuddled by his wife, Ms Chonticha (25), who was 3 months pregnant. Searching the room, the police discovered 407 yah bah hidden in the ceiling. In the 2nd room, they found a couple sleeping: Mr. Prapon Bancheun (23) and Ms. Monchanok Chinrin (21). The police woke them up and discovered a further 542 tablets and 54,300 Baht in cash. Needless to say, all the inhabitants of the house likewise confessed to possession of yah bah.

The police further questioned Ms Na-ree, the Coyote dancer, who had been the police’s key informant. It transpired that she had met the Godfather, recently, in a pub in Walking Street. He subsequently contacted her and convinced her to quit her dancing job and come and live with him as his wife in Baan Chang, Rayong Province.

However, all was not as it seemed. Rather than enjoying the high life, she was put to work packaging yah bah in a tent in the grounds of his potato farm, between Wat Yarn and Road # 331, guarded by some of his cohorts. Realizing the reality of the situation, she attempted to escape on more than one occasion, but without success. She was caught and severely beaten with a thorn-clad stick causing a great deal of injury, so she had no choice but to convince the gang that she was one of them. Until the day, that is, that she managed to persuade the Godfather that she would better employed as a delivery person and hence needed her motorcycle, which was in her house in South Pattaya.

After she was taken to a location near her house, she managed to contact her mother, who subsequently relayed the message to the police.

The police later reported their triumphant investigation to the media. They stressed that the Godfather was in fact one of the biggest drug dealers in the Eastern part of Thailand. Seven people were arrested and 2,547 tablets were confiscated, along with a truck and numerous motorcycles. They will continue their search for the rest of the gang.

Let's see, they found 22 tabs in Ms Nipaporn's purse, 1620 in Prasert's pickup, 407 in a ceiling, and 542 with the lodgers, and my addinmasheen says that comes to 2591, but the bib confiscated only 2547.

Why didn't they take the lot, that's what I'd like to know!
