PHUKET: The body of a Chinese woman was found floating in a black dress in a swimming pool at an upmarket Phuket holiday villa early today.

The woman, named as Chen Li Li, 33, had been on an evening out in Phuket's famous Patong nightlife hub before she died.

About 2am today, the woman and her husband returned to the Two Villas Holiday property in Nai Harn, the investigating officer told Phuketwan today.

The luxury villas, off Saiyuan-Kata Road, surround a long central swimming pool.

''The couple had some whisky to drink when they came back from Soi Bangla in Patong,'' said Lieutenant Chenchai Dungsowan of Chalong Police Station, in southern Phuket.

''The husband went for a shower. When he emerged, he went outside to the pool area and he found his wife floating in the swimming pool.

''He could not save her. She was wearing a black dress with a large heart on the front.''

The couple had only arrived on Phuket yesterday for their week-long holiday.

After discovering his wife in the pool, the tourist, named as Huang Cowen, 40, called Phuket police.

Phuket Ruamjai Rescue Foundation paramedics also responded. Chen Li Li could not be revived.

Her death was the second suspected drowning of a Chinese tourist in the Nai Harn area of southern Phuket within three days.

Chen Li Li's body and the body of a Chinese man who drowned in a swimming pool at the Royal Yacht Club on Saturday are now at Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City.

The parents of Kan Chgn, 28, who drowned on a pre-marriage holiday with his sweetheart at the five-star beachfront resort, plan to fly out with his body on Thursday.

At least three other Chinese tourists have died in water-related incidents on or near Phuket in recent weeks, indicating a need for greater awareness of the dangers.

if a country isnt careful and very thorough in their investigations, regardless of nationality and status, then it could quickly become a "murder hub"...

..."i went to the toilet and when i came back the family(*1) was dead"...

    - parents
    - children
    - wife

not uncommon, but usually debunked quickly...
