Murder of bailed drug dealing suspect in Jomtien

Murder of bailed drug dealing suspect in Jomtien

A suspected drug dealer, currently on bail awaiting trial, was shot dead in front of his Mothers home in Jomtien on Saturday Morning and the suspected shooter is thought to live only a few meters from where the shooting took place.

Just after 10.30 on Saturday Morning, Police Colonel Tamanoon, the Pattaya Police Chief, was one of a number of senior officers who responded to reports of the shooting inside Soi 5 off the Thepprasit Road in Jomtien.

In front of house number 192 was the body of Khun Somyot aged 39.

His shocked wife, Khun Supannee aged 37 was also there and witnessed the shooting.

She revealed how the pair had travelled to the area to visit their four children who live with Khun Somyot’s Mother.

As they arrived at the house, a neighbour, known only as Khun Nut aged around 30 to 35, approached and shot at Khun Somyot three times, once in the back of his neck, once in his arm and the third shot penetrated his rib cage from behind.

Khun Nut left on his motorbike following the shooting. Police currently have two possible motives for the deadly shooting: Khun Nut was also arrested on drugs charges and it is thought that Khun Nut believed that the deceased man provided Police with information about his alleged illegal activities which led to his arrest.

The second possible motive relates to an alleged assault of Khun Nut’s wife by the deceased man, earlier this year.

The assault was not of a sexual nature and resulted in the victim sustaining facial injuries only.

The hunt for the suspected shooter is now on.

    Sounds like a good result.

The fat kid will have dreams of dead people tonight while the two teenagers have photos of a corpse to impress their friends with.

Why these 'medical' teams don't just pick up the corpses and take them to the town center for a few hours so everyone can gawp and take their photos I don't know.

onlookers are normal... but sometimes one might feel as if the paramedics/police could be sort of "posing" around the body on that "crime scene" ... whos that guy in the blue shirt?

Thai are not human in the sense we westerners are. They have no notion of common decency whatsoever according to Christian principles which is scarcely surprising since they are heathen savages. Exhibiting a dead body is no more significant than shovelling the carcass of a dead dog into a plastic bag for disposal in a garbage skip.

These reports are simply reminders of their casual approach to death which in truth resembles the indifference shown in the wider animal world.

    Ghastly people.

    What a moronic post!

Not all people of the world deal with death in the same way. Thais don't fear death every minute of every day like most westerners do, so it stands to reason they don't have the same morbid facination with a dead body. To insinuate one makes someone more human than the other when it is obviously no more than a difference in culture, is garbage IMO.

As for your Christian principles, you can shove em up your jacksie mate.

While not being a fan of vigilante justice or the the death penalty, I tend to agree with Mao here. An 'alleged' woman bashing drug dealer has now passed this mortal realm and his attacker will be behind bars soon.

    A good result.

Your simplistic view does you credit. Are you young or merely just another Lonely Planeteer, tattooed and beringed, finding your way through the mystic orient illuminated by the imagined belief you are no longer burdened by western orthodoxy?

I can well understand the drear, mediocre of the West seeking contentment among the savage heathen of the East since ignorance, stupidity and an inclination towards indolence are all cultural hallmarks that the lower end eschewing the rigour of a Christian ethical canon can readily embrace.

I imagine you might fit in quite well.

Nevertheless, it is quite amusing that you should imply an equivalence among all cultures, as if one cannot be inherently inferior to another.

absolutely correct, they are not Christians

do you remember those Christians who killed all those jews in the 40's?

or those Christians who massacred loads of women and children in Srebenica in 1995?

    or....

yes, Christian values are very superior

waiting for the "you fool/moron/retard" remark from theGents

you sound very down, theGents, living in Thailand and hating every one of the inhabitants, how awful for you

    if only....$$$

I do own several copies of books by the Lonely Planet organisation. I'm 35 so neither young nor old. I have one tattoo that I don't care for much. I'll have to get back to you about beringed after I've looked it up.

EDIT: Who knew it would be so literal! Yes, I've been married for 13 years so I wear one ring.
