2 killed as lorry veers into oncoming traffic

Two men were killed and two seriously injured after their pickup truck collided with an 18-wheel lorry in PathumThani's Khlong Luang district yesterday morning.
Police were alerted at 8.10 am to the crash on Lam LukKa-Wang Noi Road's 22-23 kilometre marker in tambon Khlong 6.

Thawee Sakphong, 38, and Polawat Saiphanee, 19, were pulled from the wreckage of the pickup truck with critical injuries andrushed to hospital.
Yingcheep Panmangmee, 46 was found dead in the pickup truck together with another male victim who remains unidentified, police said.
Somneuk Tathip, a 55-year-old lorry driver, admitted to falling asleep while driving to a stone mill in Saraburi, causing the vehicle to veer into the other lane and hit the on coming pickup truck, police said.
Investigators were to check the driver's blood alcohol level, officers said.
