Phuket Man Knifed, Pistol Whipped in Snooker Dispute

PHUKET: Police are looking for a construction industry foreman after a man was knifed and pistol-whipped in a dispute at a Phuket snooker parlor early yesterday.

The man's mother pleaded with his attacker to spare her son's life, which may have been the only reason he survived.

Eakkachai Chiyasit, 26, required 20 stitches in a head wound and 15 more in a cut to his hand as well as being beaten around the head with a handgun.

The dispute erupted at the Namfon Snooker Parlor in Baan Bang Jo, eastern Phuket, about 1am yesterday. The man's mother, Kawrita Chiyasit, 43, was also at the parlor and pleaded for her son's life as the construction foreman wielded the knife and gun.

The foreman left, damaging Khun Eakkachai's Honda Skoopi motorcycle as he rode away.

Khun Eakkachai, bleeding profusely, was sticked up at Thalang Hospital in central Phuket.

Thalang police believe they know the name of the attacker and hope for an early arrest.
