The Department of Special Investigation has set up a centre where people can get legal advice, DSI director-general Tarit Pengdit said on Tuesday.
Mr Tarit said the DSI decided to open the legal aid centre after receiving many complaints from the people who needed help.
The centre is intended particularly to give legal advice to grassroots people with little knowledge of the law on matters such as sexual harassment and violation of rights, which are not categorised as special cases for the DSI to handle..
Complaints lodged by people seeking advice will be forwarded to relevant foundations, government agencies or private organisations for further action.
The centre is located on the first floor of the DSI building. Its director is Mahithorn Klannurak, a special cases investigator.
People can seek legal advice from the centre by calling 02-8319888 extension 3101 or by sending an email to <admin@dsi.go.th>.
