A truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) crashed into a bridge on Bangkok's Pattanakarn road and caught fire about 5am on Friday, reports said.
The reports said the flames were nearly five-stories high and there were repeated explosions.
The explosions blew out windows of some houses and people living in the area had to be evacuated.
A man suffered burns to his body. He was rushed to Petcharavej hospital, the reports said.
Police closed both sides of Pattanakarn road temporarily to allow firemen to put out the flames.
