Chalerm heads security info team

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung has been appointed by the cabinet to head a team for the collation and analysis of security-related reports from some government agencies, acting government spokeswoman Thitima Chaisaeng said.
Ms Thitima, the prime minister's deputy secretary-general for political affairs, said the team led by Mr Chalerm is to conduct a weekly meeting of agencies concerned, collate security-related reports from them, prepare a summary and report directly to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
The agencies concerned are National Security Council, National Intelligence Agency, Royal Thai Police Office, and ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Transport and Sports and Tourism.
The cabinet also instructed the Transport Ministry to order the Airports of Thailand Co to step up security measures at all airports under its supervision to ease tourists' concern over security in Thailand.
The AoT is also required to recruit more personnel proficient in such foroeign languages as Chinese, Korean and Japanese to better provide convenience and information for tourists, Ms Thitima said.
