In times like these, security detail of PM should be extremely alert. As you have probably heard of Iran terrorist activity in Thailand.

But this is not about that, it is about a swindler who wants to make headlines. He has a hate club of million now, anyone of them could have given him black eye. Well it could be self-inflected as well - he is gambling on his last straws, only military government will save him

Yes, you could replace his name with Sondhi and his fake head wound.. And the Nation's reporting of whom it though responsible. Both should have been charged with LM and Sondhi with conspiracy to murder (the driver).

Actually what did "Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunan, right, director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science"
have to do with this. Forensics of a bruise week ago, proving what?

Pornthip became famous when she "proved" red shirts were not killed by the army.

Activists want Yingluck probed for no-show

A group of activists is calling for Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to be probed for her no-show at a House session last week, as she attended a meeting at the Four Seasons Hotel instead.

    It still hurts
Businessman Ekkayuth Anchanbutr points to his bruised face after meeting Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunan, right, director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science. Mr Ekkayuth said he was punched on Feb 8 by an unidentified man at the Four Seasons Hotel after Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra left the premises. THITIWANNAMONTHA

The so-called Green Political Group has asked the Office of the Ombudsman to examine the premier's ethics for skipping the House session last Wednesday.

Group representative Chaturon Boonbenjarat yesterday submitted a petition letter to Sa-ngad Patthawee, deputy secretary-general of the Office of the Ombudsman.

The group called for an investigation into Ms Yingluck's ethics following her private meeting at the luxury hotel on Ratchadamri Road during working hours.

In the petition, the group claimed the prime minister's presence at the hotel might have been a case of conflict of interest.

The group said if her visit was not linked to any conflict of interest, she should have told the public what she was doing there.

The group insists the office must investigate the prime minister's ethics in line with Section 279 of the constitution, which requires individuals who exercise government authority to adhere to ethics, good conduct and appropriateness.

If Ms Yingluck is found to have violated these principles, the office must remove her from her post, the group said.

It also inquired about any progress in the office's move to investigate the ethics of Ms Yingluck and cabinet secretary-general Amphon Kittiamphon over the controversial appointments of Prime Minister's Office minister Nalinee Taveesin and Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Nattawut Saikuar.

In its previous petition submitted to the office, the Green Political Group questioned the qualifications of the two new ministers.

Ms Nalinee is on a United States blacklist for her alleged business dealings with the regime of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, while Mr Nattawut is a core red shirt leader who was involved in the political unrest in April-May, 2010.

Controversial businessman Ekkayuth Anchanbutr said he was present at the Four Seasons Hotel when Ms Yingluck turned up for her meeting.

He said he was assaulted by someone at the hotel that same afternoon. He believes his assailant was a man in uniform with ties to Thaksin Shinawatra, Ms Yingluck's elder brother.

He challenged Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung yesterday to meet him in front of the press to get to the bottom of the attack.

Mr Ekkayuth said on his website thaiinsider.com that Mr Chalerm had seen footage of the assault from the hotel's security cameras.

He also claimed police know who the mastermind behind the assault is, as well as the identity of his attacker.

Mr Chalerm insisted he knew nothing about the attack, and asked Mr Ekkayuth to report the assault to police.

Meanwhile, Mr Ekkayuth yesterday met Central Institute of Forensic Science director Porntip Rojanasunan to ask the institute to examine his injuries after two hospitals refused to give him a medical certificate.

Khunying Porntip said forensic doctors examined his injuries, but they could not issue him a medical certificate as the businessman did not attend the institute until four days after the assault, and his injuries had healed somewhat.

Yes she's lost all credibility - and has had none for at least a year or two. She's now a cartoon figure to the world - an idiotic one at that. She's a fullly-paid-up member of the Amartyathippithai family system. She is doing her comic-book duty to 'defend' the 'system'. She's a clown and looks like one too - appropriate. Her wiki pages have clearly been created by fawning yellow shirt and sakdina admirers - she is a Kunying after all (why?)

Forget toms political explanation as to why she has little credibility.

There is a much bigger reason. Remember the magic gt200 bomb detectors that were proved to work as effectively as eny mini mo? That her team used these devices clearly without doing any verification as to its effectiveness for years.... which is bad enough. but her rejection of the results of the testing that these detectors failed and continued use of them even in april/may 2011 means that she has no credibility. personally I would not trust her to tell me what day of the week it is, let alone the time.

    'Hotel CCTV footage deleted'

A political activist claims a senior politician ordered the deletion of CCTV footage taken on the seventh floor of the Four Seasons Hotel during Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s visit on Feb 8, reports said on Saturday.

    Taikorn Polsuwan's Facebook page

Taikorn Polsuwan, a leader of the independent political group Isan Ku Chart and a former member of the Democrat Party, claimed on his Facebook page that the deletion was ordered by a “deputy prime minister”.

He claimed the deletion was ordered because what appeared in the footage could lead to the replacement of the prime minister if it were made public.

Mr Thaikorn, who had a major role in collecting evidence that led to the dissolution of the Thai Rak Thai party in 2007, cited a high-profile source who works at the hotel.

According to Mr Thaikorn's account, the footage showed a big and tall man walking into a hotel room shortly before 2pm and a woman entering the same room shortly after 2pm. The same woman left before 6pm, and about 20 minutes after that the man was seen walking out.

Further verification would be made to identify the man and the woman in the footage, he said.

Mr Thaikorn's accusation came on the same day that Srettha Thavisin, president of the SET-listed property developer Sansiri Plc, admitted that he met Ms Yingluck on the seventh floor of the hotel on Feb 8 with six or seven others to discuss several topics including the political situation and the economy.

The meeting took place from 2pm to 4pm, the time that Ms Yingluck was supposed to have been attending a House session.

The premier has been under heavy pressure from the opposition to explain her presence at the hotel and to clarify if the meeting had anything to do with a conflict of interest.

A Pheu Thai Party spokesman said that Ms Yingluck had met with the businessmen at the hotel solely to gather information to help the government run the country.

Chalitrat Chantharubeksa called on opposition MPs, who have been hounding the premier over the meeting, to work in more constructive ways in monitoring the government.

Mr Srettha, meanwhile, denied some local media reports that the Four Seasons event was a one-on-one meeting, arranged to sound him out about taking a high-profile position with a state enterprise.

The meeting became an issue after businessman Ekkayuth Anchanbutr, a longtime foe of the premier's brother Thaksin Shinawatra, claimed he was assaulted by Thaksin's former security guard while he was sitting at a coffee shop in the hotel.

Mr Ekkayuth claimed he was assaulted because he saw the prime minister going upstairs at the hotel and coming back down and that he could name those he saw with her, which could cause a lot of embarrassment.

Democrats to grill PM on Four Seasons meeting - The Nation

Democrats to grill PM on Four Seasons meeting

The Nation on Sunday February 19, 2012 1:00 am

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra could face close scrutiny in Parliament over her controversial Four Seasons Hotel lunch with a group of businessmen, including Settha Thaweesin, the president of Sansiri Plc.

Democrat Party deputy spokeswoman Mallika Boonmitrakul said the party legal team had submitted a request to the House Committee on Economic Development to launch an assets investigation against the Sansiri chief and records of the company's meetings with Yingluck.

The move came a day after Settha admitted he and a group of seven businessmen met the prime minister at the Four Seasons on February 8 to offer their opinion on the national situation and economic issues such as finance and interest rates.

Parliament erupted in turmoil on Thursday and was ordered closed after the Democrats tried to ask why Yingluck had not attended a House meeting but opted instead to visit the hotel. Yingluck, who was away on an official inspection of the provinces to solve flood problems, was not in Parliament to answer the question.

Mallika said the Democrats had no intention to attack or harass Yingluck on personal issues but the PM was a public figure and all her actions must be accountable. She called on Yingluck to clarify the issue and not use her womanhood to conceal her actions.

"Settha said his group met Yingluck for two hours. We want to know if it was a secret discussion on the real-estate business, which might involve a conflict of interest,'' Mallika said.

The Democrats will also wait for the results of an investigation by the Parliamentary Ombudsman on the same matter.

"Using office hours for business negotiations could be unethical. As a public figure, the PM must be accountable and we wonder if there was any conflict of interest involved in their meeting,'' she explained.

Bangkok Democrat MP Chanin Rungsaeng, a member of the House Committee on Economic Development, said the panel would summon Yingluck and others involved in the controversy to give statements because the issue could involve a conflict of interest and unfair economic development.

Yingluck posted a message on her Facebook page yesterday defending herself, saying it was sad that Thais insulted each other in order to gain advantage in sexuality or work, or for vested and political interests. "I would like to seek cooperation and understanding of the role of women. Thai women must be treated with dignity and honour," she said.

Deputy government spokesman Chalitrat Chantaribeksa defended the PM, saying as the country's top executive, she needed to get information from every business sector to make decisions.

"Meeting businessmen to get information is not wrong. We don't want the Opposition to cast a negative light on every issue because it will not help the country get anywhere,'' he said.

Is this not a bit pointless? Should the PM not be allowed to meet people? As for being absent from the house, see the record of previous inmates.

    Dems threaten to impeach PM
    19/02/2012

The Democrat Party on Sunday called for those who attended a meeting with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at the Four Seasons Hotel on Feb 8 to come forward and give details of their discussion or the issue will escalate to the point where they will seek to remove her from office.

Democrat Party spokesman Chavanond Intarakomalyasut said the meeting took place on Feb 8 but it was 10 days before property mogul Srettha Thavisin, president of Sansiri Plc, came out to admit he met Ms Yingluck.

Since Mr Srettha said he and the prime minister discussed political, economic and financial matters, this could mean Ms Yingluck skipped a parliamentary session to meet a small group of businessmen to talk about important matters.
This was seriously damaging to the country, Mr Chavanond said.

He said it was strange for a real estate businessman to meet the prime minister who was about to go on a tour to visit flood-hit areas to lay down flood prevention plans and look for areas to retain floodwater or become floodways.

The Democrat Party spokesman also challenged Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung to show to the public footage from the hotel's closed-circuit cameras which covered the meeting.

Information from the prime minister could put real estate businessmen in an advantageous position, he said.

Mr Chavanond said the Democrat Party would continue to investigate the issue.

3 Democrats to be sued over PM's hotel visit 'insult'
    February 19, 2012

The ruling Pheu Thai Party is to file a defamation suit against three Democrat Party MPs for allegedly discrediting and defaming Prime Minister Yingluck over the Four Seasons Hotel controversy.

The three Democrats are party list MP Chavanond Intarakomalyasut, Nakhon Si Thammarat MP Thepthai Senpong and Songkhla MP Sirichok Sopa.

Pheu Thai Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit said the party legal team was drafting a criminal libel suit against the three Democrat MPs for insulting Yingluck in a Blue Sky programme over her visit to the Four Seasons Hotel on February 8. He said the party would let the PM decide if she wanted to file a civil suit against those who allegedly slandered her.

Storm in a teacup - but since the entire thai media is kissing the arse of the sakdina/upper class then what would we expect? One shouldn't under-estimate the childish and naive reasons given for the last Coup d'Etat. Or the rape, murder and burning alive of leftists at the behest of a few right-wingers over the radio at Thammasat in 1976 and every ten years or so thereafter - or the actions/behaviours of those expected to be 'leaders'. When you boil it all down - Thailand and Thais (hi-so and lo-so) aren't much different from Rwanda and the Hutus/Tutsis IMO. The great irony is the Bangkok-Chinese class look down on the darker skinned indiginous Thais, as though they are more important and more intelligent (Butters should call the lighter skinned "Thais" monkeys (are they really Thai - I doubt it?) .. A mega-history thesis at some point in not too distant future.

    Democrats call for PM-Sansiri probe

Furore over meeting with developer grows

The controversial meeting between Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and a property tycoon has sparked political recriminations between the Pheu Thai-led government and the opposition Democrat Party.

The Democrat Party is threatening to launch impeachment proceedings against Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra over her meeting with the president of property developer Sansiri at the Four Seasons Hotel on Feb 8.

They also plan to push for an investigation into ties between the prime minister and the developer. The opposition also has questioned whether the meeting included offering secret benefits from the government's flood prevention projects.

Democrat spokesman Chavanond Intarakomalyasut yesterday said the party will continue delving into the issue and will pressure those present at the meeting to come forward with information on what was discussed.

Mr Chavanond said the issue could provide grounds for the opposition to impeach Ms Yingluck if it involved questionable activities.

The Democrats intimated the meeting would bring disgrace to Ms Yingluck.

On Saturday she wrote on her Facebook page calling on Thais to respect the role and dignity of women. She said it was sad that women were regularly insulted and exploited in Thai society and politics.

On Friday, Srettha Thavisin, president of property developer Sansiri Plc, confirmed he met Ms Yingluck at the hotel on Feb 8.

He said the meeting included six or seven other people and was not a one-on-one discussion.

He said they exchanged opinions on several topics ranging from the general situation in the country to the economy, interest rates and financial matters.

Mr Chavanond said yesterday it would have been a grave mistake if financial matters were discussed at the hotel as Mr Srettha had admitted.

Ms Yingluck skipped a House session to attend the meeting.

Mr Chavanond said Ms Yingluck's meeting with Mr Srettha took place before her post-flood seven-day tour of five provinces.

"If I had heard what Ms Yingluck talked about at the meeting, I could have made a handsome profit," Mr Chavanond said.

Any information disclosed at the meeting on planned floodways and water catchment areas would benefit property developers who had access to the plans.

Mr Chavanond said if anyone knows in advance which areas will become floodways or water retention areas, they would just buy those land plots and wait for the government to expropriate the land.

Deputy Democrat spokeswoman Mallika Boonmeetrakul yesterday demanded Ms Yingluck disclose details of the meeting and confirm that nothing untoward occurred.

Ms Mallika said Ms Yingluck is a public figure and is subject to scrutiny and if she cannot stand the pressure, she should resign and leave politics.

It was irrelevant to cite the privilege of being a woman to avoid scrutiny, Ms Mallika said.

She said the Democrat Party will ask a House committee on ethics and a House committee on women's affairs to examine her conduct.

The party also plans to petition a House committee on economic affairs to investigate the assets of Mr Srettha, as president of Sansiri Plc, and those of the premier during the past seven months to determine if there were business links between the two.

Ms Mallika also called on the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to check activity in bank accounts belonging to Mr Srettha.

However, NACC spokesman Klanarong Chanthik yesterday said there was nothing the NACC could do about an issue involving the president of Sansiri, a private company.

PM defends meeting at Four Seasons

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said her meeting with a group of businessmen at the Four Seasons Hotel on Feb 8 was was made openly and there was no conflict of interest involved.

Ms Yingluck said this in responding to questions raised by reporters about the ongoing controversies surrounding the meeting with the businessmen, particularly Srettha Thavisin, president of property developer Sansiri Plc.

"In fact, the media knew well that we went there openly. I can assure you that there was no conflict of interest involved.

"Please understand that there are many people who want to give their opinion without wanting anything in return. Today, we still have many other things to do. There was no conflict of interest. There was nothing personal," she said.

The prime minister said this at Suvarnabhumi airport this morning before her departure for Malaysia for a one-day official visit.

Her entourage, which included Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat and National Security Council secretary-general Wichean Potephosree, left for Malaysia in an air force aircraft to Kuala Lumpur.

She said she will talk with the Malaysian leader over general issues including bilateral relations, cross-border trade and cooperation in solving insurgency problems in the southern border provinces.

Kittiratt: I was with PM at hotel

Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na Ranong has affirmed that he was with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at the Four Seasons Hotel when she met with a group of businessmen there.

He said the prime minister is a capable person whose duty is to hear opinions from as many people as possible because the government under her is open wide to all suggestions, both official and unofficial.

"I can reaffirm once again that I was really there. I know all of those who sought to meet the prime minister. I understand that they did not want to meet the prime minister at Government House because they did not want to be seen as siding with the government, because certain groups of people dislike the government," Mr Kittiratt said.

He said the Four Seasons is used for international meetings of a world standard.

It was necessary for the government to listen to useful suggestions from anybody in the private sector, not necessarily only from the chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries or the Thai Chamber of Commerce, he said.

Mr Kittiratt said the businessmen, in choosing the Four Seasons Hotel as the meeting venue, possibly did not want to go to Government House to avoid arousing news reporters' curiosity.

He said he personally knows real estate developer Srettha Thavisin, one of the businessmen who met the prime minister at the hotel, and could reassure people that he is a good man.

Pracha 'proves' PM-Srettha meeting was above board - The Nation

Pracha 'proves' PM-Srettha meeting was above board

    THE NATION February 22, 2012 1:00 am

If Pheu Thai MP Pracha Prasobdee thought that by inviting the press to the 7th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel he would clear up questions about Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's "secret" meeting with Srettha Thavisin, an executive of property development firm Sansiri, then he was sadly mistaken.

Two hours after meeting Pracha at 10am yesterday, members of the press left the hotel with more questions than answers.

Pracha started the press conference by saying that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the controversial meeting and insisted that it had taken place at the hotel's "business centre".

"The Democrat Party should be using its time looking at people's plight instead of wasting it on this," Pracha told the 40 or so members of the press assembled outside the five-star hotel.

"The prime minister can meet anybody as long as it does not threaten national security," the MP said.

The media and opposition have been wondering if the two-hour-long meeting on February 8 was just a get-together among old acquaintances, a tryst or if perhaps Yingluck and Srettha had met to exchange some inside information about real estate. And why did the security detail issue a secret code during the meeting?

"I don't know. You must ask [the prime minister]," Pracha responded.

When asked why the authorities did not just provide security camera footage to clear the air about the nature of the meeting and the identities of the people she had met, Pracha said: "It's not my duty to provide that proof."

However, he offered to take reporters to the so-called business centre on the 7th floor, but the management would only allow one representative to enter the premises because they feared the presence of the media might frighten the hotel's well-heeled guests. After a lengthy negotiation with the manager - who is a foreigner, and this writer had to step in to translate for Pracha - the MP ended up entering the premises with one reporter only to be told that the 7th floor was occupied and could not be opened to outsiders.

An hour later, Pracha came down declaring that he had proved that there was indeed an "Executive Club" on the 7th floor, but when asked if the controversial meeting had taken place there or in a private room as alleged by the Democrats, the MP said he could not confirm the location.

Shortly before noon, Pracha - insisting that he had not been dispatched to clarify things - declared that he had completed his mission of proving that a business centre did exist on the 7th floor of the hotel.

Yet, the press left the premises wondering what exactly had been proven.

On the Four Seasons' website, the tagline for its 7th-floor Executive Club reads: "Stressful? No. Productive? Yes."

However, it looks like Yingluck might find it stressful because the Parliament's ombudsman has just decided to investigate the "secret meeting".

Ombudsman to check PM's hotel visit - The Nation

Ombudsman to check PM's hotel visit

    THE NATION February 22, 2012 1:00 am

The Office of the Ombudsman has launched an inquiry into the ethical conduct of the prime minister and set a 30-day deadline for Yingluck Shinawatra to submit her defence.

"PM Yingluck will have to explain her private meeting held on February 8 at the Four Seasons Hotel," chief ombudsman Panit Nitithanprapas said yesterday.

Panit said the inquiry was based on a complaint lodged by the advocacy group, Green Politics.

Yingluck will be checked for compliance on two ethical codes, one for political office holders and the other for MPs.

The inquiry will review Yingluck's statement before deciding the next move.

Although Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na Ranong has stepped forward to disclose his presence at the meeting, along with six or seven real estate developers, he is not a target for the probe at this juncture pending checks on any fallout from the Yingluck accusations.

All high profile political figures have their movements kept away from the general public eye as a matter of National Security.

No way are all movements of the democratically elected Prime Minister published because you have to remember that the place is full of "PAD yellow nutter terrorists"

Protection of the democratically elected Prime Minister from these nutters is the number 1 priority of the security forces.

    You can't argue with that

^ It's none of anyone's business anywhere where she goes. I'm surprised she does not issue a statement mocking the clowns who have nothing better to whine about her visiting a hotel. The Democrats are starting to look quite pathetic.
