    Re-entry permit - when & where?

I'm pretty sure I need to go to Chaeng Wattana. I'm on a Non immigrant ED visa valid for a year, requiring a check in to Chaeng Wattana every 90 days, the next one is due the same day I get back from a 2 week holiday to Japan, does that mean I don't need to go to Chaeng Wattana as i'll be arriving at the airport anyway?

Before I go, I need to get a re-entry permit. I have heard I can get one at the airport but would prefer to get one from immigration to save time and hassle. How long before I go do I need to do this, or can I do it anytime until the day I depart?

The re entry permit will start the clock again on the 90 days. So the day you return you have 90 more days. They say you can get them at the airport, but as for me I would go to Changwattana to get the re entry. Then as I said the day you get back you have 90 more days. Jeez I hope this post made some sense.

If you do your 90day reporting at Chaeng Wattana then you should be able to get a re-entry permit from there. You can go anytime and get it the same day.
I think the fee is 1000 baht.

Your 90 day reporting ceases when you leave Thailand and starts again when you return

I heard they stopped doing them at the airport or maybe that the desk is sometimes open and sometimes closed. Can anyone confirm that?

I think what you're saying is:

Get the re-entry permit from Chaeng Wattana anytime before I travel.

When I return (on the same day my previous 90days was up anyway) I will automatically get 90 days and everything is back to normal, right?

My girlfriend never told me I needed a re-entry permit. She said I can do it as often as I like, whenever I like. Should have checked on TD first.

I was going to go this morning but it's 0930 and I have to be at the other end of town at 1230 so it's probably too late. I don't travel until Thursday so I guess I can go Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Do I need anything other than my passport, fee and pics?

maybe she was talking about something else?

I think you have to be careful about getting the permit; if you don't, I think it invalidates the visa

^So a multiple re-entry permit isn't some sort of virility license?

Providing you don't leave the country, you do not need one. Exiting the country cancels your visa - unless you have a re-entry permit.

Don't do today what you can postpone until tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon will do.

But, take care or you might lose your visa priviledges. Anyway, if you keep leaving the country then why didn't you get a multiple entry permit (like Paps has)?

Oh, and, I thought the airport desk re-opened? I haven't used it, but I thought I had read that it had re-opened?
