Is there any advantage to make a retirement visa when you don't yet need it ?

I mean the first time I apply for a visa in HK, they asked me many questions and additional documents. When I went for renewal, I met an officer who just asked me "any change ?" I said "no" and it was done.

For the retirement visa, do you have to submit everytime all the supporting documents or just "no change" is ok ?

This may have been answered elsewhere but there is a visa:

    or

"Visiting Thailand as retired person aged 50 years and over
Evidence required: Copy of bank statement showing income of minimum £900.00 per month"

The "requirement" is to be 50+ and a original bank statement showing income of £900 per month or savings showing £10,800 capital. There are of course many "retired" people in the UK of that age who have been "retired" in the last few years and who are too young to qualify for any pension.

Thats an interesting thought JJ and being over 50 I am in the same position HOWEVER it was my understanding ( allthough I am probably wrong ) a RETIREMENT VISA was granted on the basis you are retired and living in Thailand , are you saying its possible to hold a retirement visa / extention and commute to earn a bit ,, seems too good to be true . Where I work they would let me do 6 months a year quite hapilly er,,,,,,,,,,,end of dream ?
This worked for me back a few 4 years ago when I was doing just this. Age and income/pension are primary factors...

Does this apply to income only? Or does it also apply to savings banked outside Thailand? Can this be done converting a multi tourist to O-A inside Thailand?
