Newbie: 90 day stay in Thailand and no visa! Hi everyone.. This is my first thread. I am very grateful that I found this forum. If possible, I would like to know how to get a visa since I recently bought a 90 day round trip ticket- US to Bangkok? Can anyone direct me to a related thread? I haven't seen any posts that seem to relate to my situation. I plan to go there for a holiday departing on Dec. 31. Thanks!

Will need to get visa from Thai Embassy in US. Tourist visa would be your best bet. You will get 60 day visa but can extend here in Thailand. Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C.

Should this post not be transferred to the Newbie section? The girl said Hi to all so it dose fit, besides some mod has already started deleting posts that would normally stand.

Thank you for you help!! Since I have my ticket and it a 90 day stay, what do you think I should do? Should I show up in Bangkok with a round trip ticket to another country to extend my stay or would I be able to just make the visa runs to extend my visa? My main worry is that I will show up in Bangkok and not be let in to the country with my 90 day ticket!

| If you just turn up, you don't get a visa. You get an entry stamp in your passport that allows you in for 30 days. If you apply for a Tourist Visa in your country of residence (or anywhere outside Thailand), you'll get one of these in your passport before you get here: ![]() This will allow you to stay 60 days, and you can extend that by another 30 days at an Immigration Office. Actually, Norton already said this above.

you must get your tourist visa before you go to Thailand, if you want to stay 90 days you will get a 60 day tourist visa; this can be extended inside the country at an immigration office if you do not get a visa before you arrive, they will give you a stamp that allows you to stay 30 days max.. Doing visa runs will allow you to stay an extra 15 days at a time, just not worth the hassle and expense
