| Seems like we have got a new bunch of bar stool visa experts here.. The OP may be Indian and in that case he is eligible for a 15 days visa for purpose of tourism when he arrives to Thailand. It is a proper visa, stamped in the passport. It is also quite possible that the application fee has been temporarily dropped for this type of visa in the same way as it has been dropped for a tourist visa. Visa on arrival Transit visa is not intended for tourism and is given by Thai consulates/embassy's outside Thailand. Tourist visa is intended for tourism and is also given by Thai consulates/embassys's outside of Thailand. Both of theses visa types gets a visa stamp in the passport. Visa types, Transit visa, Tourist visa Visitors from 41 countries are allowed to enter and stay in Thailand for tourism purpose without a visa for a maximum of 30 days if arriving by air, 15 days if arriving over a land crossing. In this case, no visa is stamped in the passport. India is not one of those 41 countries. Tourist visa exemption Last edited by lom : 08-10-2009 at 08:39 AM. |
