| As part of the reason to return, she can say that she's in a strong, loving and caring relationship with her man, and she intends to return because she doesn't want to jeopardise her chances of visiting the UK again to see him (info gleaned from the T-UK website). |

| I think it was about three years ago that we went back to the u.k. I think one of the most important pieces of info we had was a letter from her boss saying that she had to back at work in 4 weeks. And one from mine too saying the same thing. I didn't take any of the photo stuff or phone records. I'd been out here on a single trip for about 3 years at the time so had no Eng-Thai comunication records. She dressed in a conservative way as she did for work everyday and we had no problems and got stamped that afternoon. But there were guys in that snake style que that knew each other from being in that que before. They were laughing and jokeing with each other about how many times they'ed tried before. Thier girlfriends or wife's were dressed just like they'ed stepped out the bar and they were sporting singha vests and boardies. Now this is no way supposed to sound snobby but in a country that is always looking at apperance if you want to impress then conform. If its only for the 2 hours whilst your trying to get a visa. |

Have you looked at getting her a fiance visa rather than a tourist visa? Could be easier !

| You cannot book a wedding until the foreign national has arrived in the UK however you can possibly book a reception etc. If you intend marrying her just explain under reference number AECIP 83/03 i have been unable to secure a booking. |

Registry offices in the UK will accept tentative bookings and give a reply in writing - with the provisio that can be confirmed if the Visa is granted. This letter should accompany the application for a Fiance visa.

| Senior Member | For what its worth we added to the paper work requested and had no problem the last 2 trips. By added I mean a letter from a relative (house owner) in the UK with a bit of financial detail, offering a sort of back up sponsorship / guarantee. Seemed to help. Good luck.

| I'm afraid not and if they are then they are not aware of the rules themselves which is generally the case. This is from the area registrar a client only last week was given permission to book one he mentioned this ref number they rang back and cancelled his booking . This goes in with all my applications and i have had no problems at all if you manage to get a booking well done however this covers you should you not. Duly enclosed: AECIP 83/03 states : "A reminder has now issued to all our offices overseas (under reference AECIP 83/03). The relevant section of this AECIP reads as follows: "1. There has been some confusion over whether ECOs [Entry Clearance Officers] should be asking for confirmation of wedding bookings at a registry office. This should not be happening. Registrars cannot make arrangements until the foreign national has arrived in the UK. "2. ECMs [Managers] are therefore asked to re-acquaint themselves and their staff with the procedures outlined in DSP 13.9". If you wish to view this section of Diplomatic Service Procedures, you will find it at: Entry Clearance Guidance - General Instructions The Entry Clearance Office (ECO) needs to be satisfied that it is intended that a marriage in the UK will take place. Any evidence that may be available that wedding arrangements are in hand may help in this respect. Failing that, the ECO can reasonably expect you to have made some tentative plans for the wedding. The ECO will, however, be aware from our published procedures that "the law relating to marriage in England and Wales does not allow for any arrangements to be made with a Registrar until the foreign national has arrived in the UK. That just about sums it up wrong i am not ![]()
