Getting my Lao visa in BKK. Agents?

Presuming the Lao embassy is only open Mon-Fri, I won't be able to pop out there myself.

They've been closed yesterday and today - buddhist holidays, so haven't been able to call and see if they'll do it by mail.

So going through a travel agent would suit hassle-wise.

Anyone know of an agent that

    a) won't steal my passport.
    b) won't put in a fake visa.

and I guess, c) double the price for the pleasure of getting said visa.

Can any of the KSR (shudder) agents be trusted, or do people have experience of others? Or any experience at all.

    Thanks.

Do it yourself at the border. It takes 10 minutes. Probably costs less. No snakey thieves involved.

As an added benefit, if your tour bus rolls off a cliff on the way to Laos, your beneficiaries save $30 toward their inheritance.

Last time I went, about three month ago, you just hang about by the window, and a hand appears with the form. You can sit at the table, bring your own pen, fill out the form, hand it back in the window, with 1500 Bht and your passport. The whole process took about 15 mins. The que for the passport controll thing can take a lot longer. After passport controll, they will charge you ten Baht and give you a ticket. At the very last, is a man who will take ages to make sure your ticket is not a bad copy. He will also examine your passport again, possibly for fine cracks.

Here's an idea mail your passport to a mate in England who can send it to the Lao embassy in Vancouver (it's cheaper there) they can send it back to you in BKK, providing they don't steal it sell to a cousin who want's to travel to Thailand posing as an Englishman

Next time you try to be humourous, at least try and say something funny. There's a good lad.

Wasn't trying to be humorous but certainly being sarcastic about the assbackwards way you do things.

Why so complicated, go to the border and make it there. Instead of passfotos they more like a copy of you passports datapage.

At the border, easy quick, and the same costs. One photo, or 1 USD if you have forgotten the photo.
