Just got back to my humble dwelling in Muang Thong Thani - ended my trip with a wonderful 24hrs in Nong Khai where I hooked up with Gallowspole, Peterpan and Texpat and his lovely wife who were great hosts. I'm too tired to go into details right now but it was my first proper stay in Issan and will make a worthy thread later on. My extended thanks goes again to Tex and Mrs Pat for a great time and the best BBQ I've had in years.

He didn't know I'd got it until late last night. I'm in rather a foul mood today, I have another phone bill that's almost 8,000 baht from CAT Telecom. Pete say hi to Sandra and the other one who's name escapes me, and Mrs Pan who is also very nice.

I last made the Laos visa run before the Friendship Bridge was built... yea, long time ago... have to go next week - complicated by the Queen's b'day. Any tips on where to stay - good value for little money - would be very welcome. Hope to be back to Nong Khai on Thursday, the 14th.
