| That might be the way for me to go, I have income but its derived from selling investments so hard to show a steady stream. Have one query tho, we were married in New Zealand, will this marriage certificate comply or do I have to get in notorised by those thieves at the embassy? |

| Elite Member | According to another forum they are now doing 7.17 extentions in Korat instead of having to go to BKK. Are they now doing this at all Immigration offices ? According to the forum, bank books have to be shown. It will be granted if money has been regularly deposited and withdrawls. Process takes a month so I've read. |

| I went to Nong kai immigration today to see about the 7.17 extension. Showed the guy the regulations 7.17 and he said "only if divorced" WTF where does it say you have to be divorced? In fact it specifically mentions to produce proof of relationship such as marriage evidences (sic) So I said If I get divorced from my wife I can get this visa, he said, Yes. I said to him very politely and slowly, Can- you- read- this- and- show- me - where - it- mentions- divorce ? His response, I don't need to, I know the regulations. How the fvck do you deal with these morons? |

| Senior Member | God Damn it Pete, you know that he just made that one up so it could not be in print yet, same as all regs, they do not have to be in print and only need to be done by the one you are dealing with. CM comes the closest to the printed rules as anyplace I have been yet,, BKK and NK seem to do it a little different than most.

| Real pissed I was Gang bang, because 3 weeks ago I applied for a 60 day extension which they gave me, but instead of stamping it 2008 they stamped it valid until 7th Sept 2009. I thought they had missed it but someone from the office rang today and asked if I could bring the passport back for restamping, which I did thinking, well at least I will get some brownie points for being a good boy. Not a word of thanks, or apology for the inconvenience, for my 1 hour drive there and 1 hour back to fix their fvckup. They have less manners than an Issarn pig farmer. |

| The Dog | ^ I think you maybe right, the latest one my girlfriend had on her translation stuff she does was kicked back from the Minstry of foreign affairs, they decided one of her translations was wrong and that the whole thing was unnacceptable, yep my dumb girlfriend capitalised the "T" in the word "Thailand", she was told quite sternly that it does not need to be capitalised and she was wrong in what she done, a few weeks ago she was also told not to class the Garuda stamp they do on official papers as a stamp, yes we all know it is just a stamp, but in translations this stamp must be refered to as a sticker, if you refer to the stamp as a stamp your paper work will be rejected, also on Thai birth certificates if the birth place is Bangkok you must state in the translation "Bangkok Metropolis", if the word "Metropolis" isn't there then your paperwork will be trashed........ and no, you can't use the word "Capital" in conjunction with Bangkok.
