Oversaes and miss 90 report, what happens?

I am thinking of having an extended stay back in Australia and it could mean that I am still there when my 90 report is due, what would happen?
    Would my Visa be cancelled?
Can I just do the report once I get back?

I am currently on a Non O (Thai wife) visa.

Would appreciate any replies but would especially like it if someone who has had experience in this issue to tell me what eventuated.

    Thanks in advance.

Nothing will happen. You need to report your 90 day of consecutive stay in country. If you are out of the country, you do not report. And the 90 days starts again from when you return to Thailand.

Get a re-entry permit from immigration before leaving.

Can get a multiple re-entry permit if you will be coming and going more than once during the length of the Extension of Temporary Stay.

A new of 90 days will begin when you return.

Thats the key - gotta have the re-entry permit (do everything legit). Forget the re-entry permit then you get to start qualifying for your spousal non o all over again.

Thanks for the quick reply, I always get a re-entry permit before I am planning to leave the country but wasn't aware that the 90 day report period started from when I re-entered.
Last year and this year I just reported on the day on the "ticket" in my Passport said to and no-one at Immigration said anything to me. probably because it was easier for them than working it all out again.

    Absolutely.

I imagine there's quite a few clueless buggers that mess it up, arrive back to find out their visa and Extension of Temporary Stay is now null and void, then start jumping up and down screaming in full Manny Meltdown Mode.

Funny? In Indonesia the work permit automatically includes a multiple re-entry permit.

    One can live in hope.

I get the multi re-entry permit each time when I re-new my visa. Save the hassle of getting one each trip, and its only 3,100 baht or so.

Hope of common bloody sense penetrating the last bastion of bureaucratic stupidity? No chance. All those lovely sell-able Civil Servant jobs dealing with re entry permits shall not be cast asunder.

Yup, most people kill two birds with one stone, and get it when they get their annual extension. Cost me 3,800b last time. Don't know why, I barely leave the house never mind the fookin' country, but better than going someplace and then going through the hassle of doing it. Especially if it's a parental emergency that suddenly happens.
