Thread: she needs a visa for France but........

We're going to the UK for 2 months in July.
All good UK visa done.

But whilst there we want to go and stay at my brothers place in Brittany for which I assume she will need a visa.

Schengen perhaps? I've no idea.

Secondly, does she get it here in LOS, which involves a trip to BKK

Or once we're in the UK?

Any comments, thoughts or abuse accepted.

Yeah, if he only has 'website office hours of 10:00 - 12:00' then he may not be empowered to issue visas I reckon.

Still, he'll have the skinny obviously.

As previously mentioned, I reckon it's best to get it done before you leave Thailand.

Thing is, to be completely honest, I only really want to go to stock up on grog and smokes before we go sailing for 3 weeks.

So, if push comes to shove and it proves to be too much like hard work we'll not bother.

Its a fair song and dance to get a French visa (and yes Schengen) - you will need an attestation provided by your brother (forms are issued at the local police station in France).

Probably better to do it here, and yes, you will need to go to BK.

TLS Contact is a pain in the ass, they will refuse the VISA at least one time to make a point and get the 2500 THB fee

you need to apply at least 2 times, and they will only speak in French in their online message system for additional documents. They are fun, aren't they ?

Yes I tried a few years back , I did hear that it was possible in Scotland but I found no full confirmation,

Applied in BKK. Had to have all travel plans and flights printed out but visa was backed by marriage cert ( this must be Apossled if it's in Thai at MFA and then Brit Embassy) so they cannot check in depth and printouts can be a screenshot of the proposed flights/hotels and doesn't need to be prepaid and confirmed !

I found it easy also had a check list available which was a help.

I also believed that any European embassy that is contacted must reply in the language that is first used as long as that is a European language itself!

Yep done it 3 times no prob .
Spanish was a bit harder as I was trying to stretch the rules

Obtained 6 months window with 90 days stay multi entry , issued in advance of arrival from French with ease!
