    "Bogon" It could have been some other chunky guy in a KISS t-shirt, KISS ball cap & levis unless they looked sorta like this;

    Plus the "real me" always carries this cane (but not the cat);

    Accept no imitations!! Demand the real Tod Daniels...

    I thought you were gonna say hi!

    Man, was that retirement/marriage/family section chock a block this morning or what? They gave me a queue number even though I just needed a document about some requirements. I got number 71 and they were on like number 15 or 16!

    As I just needed a document the "queue number hander-outers" said ask whoever wasn't with a customer. That first cubby where people get their results back from the 30 day under review marriage extensions usually isn't busy so I got that lady to get me the paper I needed. Then because the thai and english versions didn't match, after I read it I had to go back and bother one of the higher ups in that section anyway to tell me what version they were gonna follow.

    I was just wandering around from Zone to Zone tryin' to get information on some things. Talked to the Mormons in the ED section for a while though. Good kids - they've got a tough row to hoe converting the buddhist thaiz to mormonism if you ask me.

    Oh, "Phuketrichard" the price NEVER went to 2000baht from 1900baht.

    You're confusing the price of a single entry 90 day Non-Immigrant Visa inside the country with the price of an extension of stay.

    ANY extension of stay, be it;
    • a 7-day emergency extension,
    • a 30-day extension on visa exempts or 60 day tourist visa
    • a 60 day "visit my thai wife/child extension
    • a 90 day ED/medical/missionary extension
    • a 1 year retirement, marriage, support children, work extension
    costs the same 1900baht, no matter the amount of time they let you stay in country. So the price didn't go up by 100 baht.

    At the bottom of either a TM.86 - Application for Change of Visa, or the TM.87 - Application for Visa it says the cost is 2000 baht. You use one or the other of those forms when you apply for a Non-Immigrant visa inside the country.

    FWIW: I've never had an officer say they don't have change for a 1900baht extension of stay fee. I'd rate a b/s comment like that right up there with the "meter broken" taxi scam and treat it about the same way too.

    Just for my own information; Bogon, did you have to sign any of those forms I've posted?

    Saw you around 10am having a quick chat with the young guy in section N.

    I took a sneaky picture with my phone for the new "Spot the Todd" thread I was gonna do!

    Where did you get that walking stick? It looks highly varnished and could do some damage to somene!
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

    I'd read your comment just before I left for immigrations and even looked around, but I didn't see anyone "wantin' to say hi" (all that much).

    That guy in section "N" was in the ED visa area (or am I mistaken?). I don't hardly spend any time there, because as a rule even the most clueless of students doesn't need a "shepherd"! They get all their paperwork from the school and the MOE.

    The thing is; the way they wrote the new regulation about ED visa extensions which came into effect Aug 29th was quite "open for interpretation". I wanted to understand how they thought it was written (BTW: that was the third time I've been out there about it).. I really tried but couldn't "push the rope" on it. I did get him to agree the way it's written COULD be interpreted like I translated the thai. Still it didn't change how they're enforcing it. Honestly, I don't have a dog in that fight, but I wanted to know what's what about it.

    Oh, I bought that cane after I got hurt more than 15 years ago, from a friend in the US who has a "stick shop". I don't have any feeling in my left from about the knee down to the foot, so if the ground's not level under it I can't tell if my foot is sitting flat or not. If it's not, I usually end up pitching over on the ground. If I fall over the thaiz just think I'm drunk, lol. On level ground I'm not too bad though.

    When I bought the cane it was so light weight, I had a friend drill it up thru the center and epoxied a piece of 3/8" re-bar into it. It'll dent you if I whack you with it, that's for sure! It causes a LOT of consternation goin' thru security at airports (not so much in S/E Asia but in the US it riles those half-wit security people right up!).

    Post the pic if you still have it!

    Here's a really rare one! It's the "KISS Army on Soi 12". I probably have over 150 KISS t-shirts. I knew I'd never get to wear them all. I gave them out to the thai guyz I drink Soi side with. Those guys are salt of the earth kinda people, all born in other provinces working in Bangkok. Really they're blue-color workers, w/wive'z, kidz, cars, house payments, tuition etc, tryin' to do right by their familiez. That's the kinda thaiz I hang around with. I don't cotton to hi-so thaiz at all !!

    In other news; I was in 7/11 a couple days ago, happened to glance at the monitor for the security camz and thought to myself, "Wow, there's an old fat guy wearing a KISS t-shirt! too!" Sadly, it turned out to be me just from a different camera angle.

    Made me feel bad to be old and fat. Not so bad being old, but certainly being fat.
