The easiest Visa for this situation

    I have a 1 year non "O" muli-entry visa that expires on 15th September

I can leave before that date and get another 90 days until around 14th December

I want to stay in Thailand until mid-March, so I need three months more

What is the easiest/cheapest visa to get? Will I need to go out of the country?

This will work if you are married.

Just before the 14th December you can pop down immigration and get a 60 day extension for 1,900 baht.

This should let you stay in the country until 12th February(ish).

By then you should know if the in-out border run fiasco will be a flash in the pan.

If it is then you can do a border run and get another 30 days which will make you good until mid March because February is a short month.

Total cost - 1,900 for the extension and whatever a border hop will cost you.

As you do not sate nationality or purpose very hard to advise
also hard to plan in current set up.
if I was Oz Id pop out get a new 12 O from bris hobart or perth asap

If money is tight Bogon's idea
Other options work visa or monk journalist investor married man retirement etc
There is loads of advice on the other channel tv or of course you could ask those who make the decisons an anonymous call to immi nothing to lose?

    Good luck

I am a UK citizen and married to a Thai

Bogon's method seems good, and cost effective (I can't give you any green at the mo, sorry)

and I should be able to get one in/out visa exempt run

saves the hassle and expense of getting another 1 year visa at home

"Run-4-the-border"; as in exit thailand and re-enter and you'll get another 90 days permission to stay until stamp because the visa you hold allows permission to stay of 90 days at a time.

Make sure you run at least the day before that visa itself expires. Some people at some borders got knocked back because depending on where you got that visa it says "must be used before" and has a date stamped into it. Thaiz interpret that as the day BEFORE it really expires!

    Once you have your 90 days, and that winds down you can follow "Bogon's" advice;

Go to your local thai immigrations and pay 1900 baht for a 60 day extension of stay because you're "visiting your thai wife". That's a no-brainer because you don't have to show any money in the bank or anything other than the marriage certificate, her thai I/D and her house book..

Then you can see what's what when you need to snap up the last 30 days you're wanting...

Funny you mention that one , I,m not sure if thats even an option anymore back at home , I have heard they have clamped right down on issuing them at all OR your need to show a serious pile of wonga in the bank before they will issue one.

A one year non O is really a 15 month visa , just need to leave the country before the visa expires and come back in the country for a free 3 month stay then if you go to a thai consulate outside the country and get a tourist visa which gives you 60 days which you can extend at local immigration office for last 30 days
