    90 day report

Hi, I have my 90 day report coming up. Does this have to be done at the immigration office that issued the extension of stay or can I go to any immigration office?

Any, but be aware they all have various interpretations of what's required. It can also be done by post but I don't trust Thai bureaucracy.

90 day reporting is usually a formality.

Has to be done at the office you obtain your extension. You don't have to go personally. You can get anybody to do it on your behalf. My office doesn't accept postal reports. Has to be done by hand.

Kap Choeng or Korat will not allow it. They both make you report to the office from which you obtained your extension. I live in between both but can only report to my area office.

    I have not reported ever.

When they ask me why I just tell them I am doing the job that I was contracted to do and according to the terms and conditions of the work permit they awarded me with.

Unless they stay open after 6pm, open before 8am or on Saturday or Sunday it is impossible for me to report what they already know what I am doing.

I pay a small fine which is a lot cheaper for me and my company when compared to the lost time and petrol money for me to sit in their office for hours to confirm the obvious.

May be you should define your office? Someone could help better if we knew that.

I did my last 90 day report in Samui.

Oct 2012 Extension at Surat all 90 day reports at Surat.

Oct 2013 Extension at Samui, subsequent 90 day reporting at Surat and Samui.

They come across as a right bunch of self serving twats. The problem is the system is so cumbersome and top heavy they can get away with it.

As far as I'm aware they'll tell you to go away. I can't do it in Korat even though that is the closer of the 2 local offices.

I did ask why I can't report to another office and the reason was that too many farang are not living at the address they say they are. And it's a way to ensure they are. Yeah I'm confused as they allow any Tom, Dick or Harry to do the report for you as long as they have your passport and signed TM47.

Not true about Kap Choeng , I know a few guys that got their 1 year retirement extension in Pattaya and do their 90 report at Kap Choeng because they live in Surin Province part of the year.

Just take a copy of the House book of where you are staying and you shouldn't have a problem.

Don't give up Mamakay. Phone them. The office isn't that easy to find if it's your first time.

Yes it is true. If I was allowed to do my report at Korat I'd jump at it and so would many others. Kap Choeng is a nightmare car journey to get to on Route 24 plus an extra 60km round trip. Been living here coming 9 years and basically things ain't changed except the office.

I didn't report for 9 years and when I changed visa types and I went to report they fined me 2000 baht. Would have cost me more time and money to run out and report at Chaeng Wattana so I consider the fine good value.

It's true for you because you live in Surin,go and stay in Pattaya and you can do it there,go to live in Nong Khai and you can do it there also.
Mamakay has said he got his extension in Pattaya and wants to do it in Korat. It wont be a problem if he has a house book of where he is staying .

He can try and I may be be talking complete bollix, which I don't thing I am, so phone first. In fact I don't live in Surin. I live closer to Korat than Surin and I'm not allowed to use that office. Piwanoi lives 40km away from me I bet he'll tell the same.

Yes because you and Piwanoi live in an area where Kap Choeng is your Local office but if mamakay is staying ( the house book address )is in Surin or Buriram he will have to go Kap Choeng too.
If you and Piwanoi moved to Korat you would not have to go to Kap Choeng to do your 90 Day reports, even if you acquired your extension there !

Off course you have to go to the Immigration Office in the area you are staying, you just can't walk into any Immigration Office to do your 90 report [ although some let you ].

BTW Mamakay there are loads of Visa Shops in Pattaya that will do if for you for a small fee, just post it to them with a SAE and they send it back.
