Removal of unused visa from passport?

I have a unused Chinese visa in my Australian passport (full page stick on type and stapled), visa issued in Hanoi 3 years ago. The visa is on page 12 of a 34 page passport, the last page used is page 21.

All the stickyness is gone and the only thing holding it in there is the staple, sooner or later it will fall out.

Should I stick it or staple it back down? Or remove it? If I remove it will I have problems going thru immigration with a blank page half way thru my used passport.

Best to stick it back, an unused page in the middle that obviously at one time had something on it is going to look a tad suspicious and may need a lot of explaining at any immigration point.

Rip it out, shit Ive steamed out glue ins when Ive needed a spare page....never had an issue.

I pull my visas out. The Indonesian ones come out like a dream leaving no residue. Their glue is hopeless

China visas do use better glue, and removing them can pull a layer from the passport paper - which looks extremely fishy. Removing glue that is left behind is extremely difficult - I tried steaming some off using a kettle once and it made the entire passport shrivel and get water stains. I tell immigration that I dropped it in the bath.

Japanese visas seem to be stuck with superglue. You can only get them off if you move them almost immediately - as the glue hardens. The Japanese immigration caught me doing this.

I also move visas around my passport. Eg my current multientry China visa, (which looked awful on its new page, as of course it wasn't flat and pristine anymore - PRC immigration were not impressed - but it was still in order). Moving them to pages where I have had accidents and the paper has come off or on top of a half inked stamp that overlapped a removed Thai visa label.

In answer to your question - having a free page in the middle of your passport is no problem.

Interesting idea, I have an old indefinite multi entry for the states, that would be a nice one to move, when I got it it gave you 6 months on arrival and just take a daytrip to barbados for a visa run

Stick it back in its original place - I had one come out a few years ago and stuck it back on another page - it expired and I went for a new one and went through a load of shit explaining it !!

That was for Bangladesh but I would imagine they would be all the same !

On your next trip to immigration, or sooner if you're nearby, have the authorities there recommend a solution. An annotation by them and their stamp partially covering the edge of the Chinese visa should solve the issue. Cheers

Pull it out, then leave it inside your passport unattached.

If the page it was originally stuck to is pristine then take it out, but keep the visa itself safe in a separate place.

If there is any trace of that visa remaining on the page then it is best to staple it where it was. Do not use any glue.

Because it is used as a movement tracking system by the authorities. An example:

I have more than one passport and try to use them equally, in terms of space. Up until a few years ago it was not a problem leaving one country on one passport and entering another country on a second passport and then another on a third.

I stopped doing that after being pulled over several times and questioned about my travel timeline as they couldn't connect the routes.

It is not illegal, but they will ask you to use the same passport and will writ remarks in your passport of use . . . not a good thing

Again, I don't believe you, I don't know about an Indonesian visa, but I know for fact, that all Thai visas which are attached to your passport have a red government stamp which overlaps the visa and passport page. Even if you took the visa out, a good part of the red stamp would be evident in the passport. I think you are full of shit.

mostly peeled them, had to use a knife on one or two of them to lift them up a bit. but they pretty much all come in the end, apart from one or two, but at least now I have about 20 extra pages i can use.

Any, like I said, I don't believe you have removed the Thai visas from your passport without being able to easily tell. Lets see some pics of the pages.
