Thai consulates in the U.K. no longer issuing multiple entry non immigrant visas

Just been reading in ' the other place ' that U.K. consulates are no longer allowed to issue multiple entry non immigrant O visas. All applications for these are now being refered to the Thai Embassy in London for processing according to the rule book.

If so, not so surprising given how slack some of them were. Last time I was in Birmingham the consulate bloke there did tell me to expect things to get tougher next year. Looks like he was right.Still, it was nice while it lasted.

A long time ago when I was a tefler and everyone had to go to Penang for their double entry non immigrant visa, the required ' show money ' was only 10,000 baht....married or not. Even that trifling amount was enough to get a lot of people in a sweat ! The bar has certainly moved up since then and will probably continue to do so.

You would probably have to go through official channels , rather than asking him personally .
