60 day visa run... where to

Hi, I am faced with a dilemma. I have a non-immigrant B visa that expires soon... and i want to get a 60 day tourist visa because my whole family is visiting me.

I am based in Koh Tao... and I desperately need help with where to go. I can't go to Malaysia, as i have been there 3 times before and need to go to another country for a visa run this time.

All the thai companies on the island say that Ranong, Myanmar only does the stamp for 15days and that's just ridiculous to do every 15 days.

is there a cheapish way to go about this.

    any help will be appreciated.

I would go back to Penang and try and get a Tourist visa there.( Use the Indian book shops ) If your worried about Penang not giving you another visa then why do you think going to a different Consulate is going to be any different ??
Anyway you say you're on a Non Imm 'B' so getting a tourist visa should be OK..

    Go to Surat Thani.

    Take train to Nong Khai.

Cross Border and go to Thai Embassy in Vientienne.

Ask for double entry tourist visa (2000bt)

Total visa valid for 6 months, so

    2 months
go to immigration and extend for 30 days
    go to border
    Get another 2 months
extend at immigration for another 30 days.

6 months before you have to sort it again.

Or go to BKK, take the visa-run bus to Cambodia and within 12 hours you are back in BKK. They also have a bus to the Thai embassy in Cambodia (or Laos i forgot) where you can buy a multiple visa.

    Or go to Singapore.

Cambodia will NOT issue a multiple tourist visa ( no such thing) Laos will issue a double, Savanaket Laos is the closest to u that will issue a double

Oh i thought he allready had the multiple visa and only needed to stamp it.

I never knew that you can buy a multiple visa in Laos but not in Cambodia, i thought any thai embassy would do that.

On our local market is a lady from Cambodia with a travel agency and she always try's to sell me a trip to the embassy in Phnom Pen for the visa run. That's why i thought he can go there.

Anyway i think the whole visa thing is very complicated and i stopped trying to understand how it works. It is only about making money out of the foreigners so i mostly fly to other country's in asia and stay there for a holiday and come back. I have seen all country's around thailand allready

Latest thing i saw is at the Thai immigration a drive-through service. They built everything for it allready a year ago but it is still not open for some reason. And even at the Thai immigration they cannot speak/write proper english.
