Where to buy papers for 1 year B visa

    Hello,

I would like to do extensive field marketing research for one year, in the hope of finding a suitable business opportunity in thailand.

Therefore I need a one year business visa. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that for neighbouring countries I would need a crapload of various papers to get it. It seems easier to do it in Europe.

I think I either need a letter from a foreign company sending me to thailand, or a letter from a thai company inviting me to thailand, and paperwork about the company. Problem is that I am self employed and don't know any N+ in any company farang or thai who could write me those letters.

Where can I find a thai company that could give me adequate paperwork, and for how much?

How many consecutive business visa can I get if I never work or apply for work permit?

    Thanks

Im sure someone in Pattaya will oblige for fee. Of course real companies and WPs cost While foreigners may only be employed in specalist high skilled areas and tax paid etc Of course Thai Immigration and Deprtment of Trade havethe up to date regulations assuming you are not planning anything underhand. As far as i know there is depste overwhelming evidence to the contrary no visa yet for mongers scammers or the self employed

So do you have a registered business?
Use your own business to provide the paperwork

I heard 5 consecutive non-B visas is the limit at some of the overseas consulates which issue them (not all do).

Several companies can provide the paperwork, but better not to list them on a public forum. While there's nothing illegal about obtaining a non-B visa with their paperwork, it's the kind of loophole that will be closed once enough people start using it... just like consulate in Hull got tougher once it became too well known on the internet they had a light touch.

Strange concept. You can be legally employed with a work permit and still be required to do a 90 day exit and apply for a new visa every 15 months or so. So the idea of 5 in-a-row would not allow you to be legally employed in some circumstances.

Have to call BS on that (apart from the fact if Thais are running the consulates they're almost certainly clueless).

It may be easier not to bother and try to get another type of visa; I don't think visiting on business needs a business visa

marketing research can be called many things, including tourism

The 1 year non-B visa is NOT meant for employment by a Thai company, it's for doing business in Thailand (without doing work or getting paid by a Thai entity). People making frequent business trips (up to 90 days at a time), and similar. Officially, there's also a 3-year non-B visa for a similar purpose, but I've never heard about it issued (you probably need to be senior in a well-connected multinational corp).

If you intend to work, you can get one non-B visa to start with (usually 3-month single-entry), and then obtain a work permit and extensions based on it (as well as a re-entry permit to travel).

Except when Thai laws makes it the only option to be employed by certain Thai companies.

    HI;
since ur going to be doing research and not actually working, why not get an ed visa and learn to speak thai as well> Much easier to do and it would help u in the long run to speak the language.

Apply for a non immigrant type O in your home country. Easier to get than a type B.

Get a B later if you find a job / work / whatever.

Thanks for the answers. I know that ED visa is easier as I am currently using one, but a business visa seemed a cheaper and simplier solution.
