| Still trailer trash | Thailand's Chulalongkorn University now ranks among the world's top 200 THAILAND'S premier tertiary institution, Chulalongkorn University, is now among the top 200 in the world, according to the latest The Times Higher Education - QS (THE-QS) World University Rankings. The university is placed at number 166, tied with Germany's Universität Gottingen, in the 2008 list of top universities in the world. Japan's University of Tokyo, ranked 19, is the top Asian university, while Singapore's National University (NUS) is the top Southeast Asian institution. NUS is placed at 30, tying with University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Of the top 10 universities, led by Harvard in first place, six are in the USA and four in Britain.
