Teaching In Thailand Being a international school teacher in Thailand can be a great career with salaries in the range of $2,500 to $6,000 per month, or you could become a TEFLer teaching English with a salary range of 350-600 pounds per month, although with many teaching jobs it could be worth doing a TEFL course even if no experience is necessary, but will teaching students fulfil your overseas jobs yearnings? Is a English language teaching job something you really want to do? Can you teach English?

Good start

Sorry all, buggered up first post....try, try again

Hi all, newbie to forum but not to Thailand or to teaching.
Spent two months a year in LOS whilst living for 20 years in Italy.
Brit (COME ON YOU IRONS), BA and CELTA plus 15 years of own school and biz training consultancy. Now want to bugger off due to divorce (same old story) and selling biz (for a big loss, basically bankrupt (OK not Italian but near as damn it..sorry to all Micks but I'm colour blind). I'm 47 but feel 18, want to have some fun before I get old..and remember why I started teaching all those eons ago.
I am a specialist in biz courses and TOEFL and wondered how corporate work is in LOS. Doubt many will give me detailed answers, corp work is well protected in every country...but some ideas. Spoke to mate in Samui who is involved in TEFL course, lots of cancellations due to recent happenings..was surprised I still wanted to come, not too worried...seen it all so many times, seen the tanks and the tossers on all sides, Thais too rich now (OK maybe not in Issan, but better than a decade ago) to bugger things up.
A>ny group therapy sessions around for OPs? Hate getting pissed alone...where can i break the old drinking glands in with the like minded?
nought against younger back-packer brethren but employed enough of them (qualified though...no alternative in eyetie land) to understand I am of a different generation...give me Bowie, Jazz and meaningful dis(inter)course every time.
