Thread: Why do one or two Thailand TEFL schools get so much negative press on the internet?

I have no idea.

old Camel Toe says I am always everywhere selling. I dont think I have participated in a thread selling anything for along, long time. I have been fored to defend our coruses against lies and utter crap. That mainly seems to come from idiots and only very rarely from an actual dissatisfied customer.

Smeg, you might want to consider the fact that the first two, training is the core of their income compared to say ECC. This would mean that they train more people and hence there is more likelihood that people would take swipes at them.

The leaves highest in the TEFL tree gets the most wind.

There is truth to that. Don't know about the rest of you but some of us believe how a leaf gets to the top says more about the leaf than the praise that should come for his being at the top.

If you have a useful product sold at a far price, and if that product serves the buyer well, who on Earth is going to complain?

Allow me to give you an example of the lowest form of human life on the planet but who has mastered the art of marketing. His name is Karl Mark Maddox. Search him and you'll see links to books he has written about God, and children stories, and see all his self-written book reviews in the names of scores of happy buyers. Go back to google then scroll down till you see an FBI Most Wanted site. There he is! Skipped bail on child molestation charges .. his own daughter!

I met this guy when I lived in Mexico, I rented a house from him. He lived with a girlfriend who had four daughters, four unhappy-looking daughters.

He gave me a copy of his first book, it had 14 grammatical errors on the first two pages. The book sold 800,000 copies. People by the scores wrote negative reviews but most of them were deleted quickly by Amazon and two other of the big book sellers on the web.

After a year or so people started writing in and saying, Hey, this guy is a wanted child molester! They were quickly deleted. I wrote to Barnes and Noble as pleaded with them to at least search his name. There was no reply, book still for sale.

There are people who will complain about anything. Luckily, our actual students have very rarely complained about our course. We have had approximately 13,000 students worldwide in the last 10 years. Five percent of them have failed to complete the course. If you think about it, the internet should be flooded with complaints just from those 5 percent.

No, that pretty much pertains to you and a very few people who have been making baseless accusations based upon no evidence whatsoever for a few years now. I think you and a few others are stupid. Most people have moe than a few brain cells.

I deal with sane people fairly. All of TW was crap. there were two real complaints in the whole 100 page crapfest.

Everyone sells something. If you go to work every day, you sell your ability to do your job to your boss and co workers. You sell yourself when you try to meet (or keep) a girl. I could go on and on.

Some of you few just seem to think the fact that TI sells something and has done it successfully is proof enough we are doing something dishonest. it isn't.

Others point to accusations and rumors. Give me some facts, boys. I am happy to discuss facts.

right now 90 percent of the crap on the internet is from Whitey and quotes from TW. Very few people actually complain about our course. Most are very happy with it and thats why we are brave enough to have our end of course feedback available ONLINE and UNEDITED.

Look, Bruce has a huge banner on Dave's. Dave must think that's okay by me. Every thread with the mention of Bruce's school in negative terms is locked, locked with Bruce's defense being the last post.

Isn't there a parallel between the Dave's thing and B&N, Amazon of a few others deleting reviews of a horrible book that happens to be for sale on their website?

I don't know shite about Bruce's product as it compares to the others. I don't even dislike the bloke. What bothers me is what bothers a lot of people nowadays: Money is the most important thing in life. Those with money can lie and cheat the public because they've already bought the ticket to their defense.
