Teaching English in Thailand, 100k baht per month

Teaching English in Thailand, 100k baht per month, well that's what their advert says.

    Welcome to myTeacherLIVE.com

Sounds very much like a take the money and run job .
I think it costs 50k to enroll as an online teacher.
Assuming that a WP is not provided, what happens when immigration get to hear about this? They will be asking for everyone's IP address.

There was a Japanese one a few years ago which I thought was interesting. They took a commission of the sales made online.

I knew one guy who signed up for something like this, but in the end never got any work.

But saying that, online teaching from a "real" university is a great way to pay for a nomadic lifestyle.

Pay is usually around 1500 to 2000 US doallrs for a six week class (I'm not talking ESL teaching here, but computer or business studies) and doing two classes a term (8 a year) in addition to a holding a full time job is doable.

Accidental Ajarn - would you know of any 'links' to these real universities?

Many hours searching online for similar deals has proved fruitless and an extra 50 - 60,000 would certainly help keep the wolf away.

With regard to the OP, myteacherlive appears to be nothing more than usual scam (give me your money and you might be able to work your nuts off for scant reward, if any!!).

here is a list of online unis or unis with online programs, don't follow the links on this site, but just google the names and try to find the employment page. I found some online work at two different Unis, maybe I will try to do the online thing full-time in a few years.

I've seen this site. I rather think it is a phishing site.

    No it isn't

It's the same as buying a franchise. You have to get your own work, like any business.

Freelancers are the last people immigration worry about as they are hard to track down.

Hard to imagine anyone would be stupid enough to fall for such a scam.

When you buy a franchise you're banking on the franchiser's brand and success.

Who has heard of these turkeys, "myteacherlive?" And why, if supposing they had a successful business, would they sell it off so cheaply?

Answer: they wouldn't, they'd be hiring teachers through normal channels.

But don't worry, "Trevor" here has been working on building this "goldrush" system for all of one year!
