The Knowledge - Lake Rajada: anybody got the lowdown?

G'day ladies and gents of the forum.

I'm all set for an interview next week at a 'language lab' by the name of 'The Knowledge - Lake Rajada Complex'. They seem to do mostly business/corporate training (Sheraton, Shangri-La, Toshiba, Tesco Lotus etc.)

From the email correspondence it seems I'll do roughly 15-20 hours contact hours during the week, leaving me weekends free, to IELTS examine or relax.

Salary offered is approximately 45-50K/month, and work visa will be sorted out by them.

Downside: evening hours and a meagre 7 days annual leave (I'm used to three months teaching uni in China, but thoroughly fed up with China itself)

So, do you have the scoop on this gig? Good or bad feedback - both welcome.

And it is possible to find a decent apartment within, say, 30-45 minutes of this place?

Their website: English School Bangkok - Start Learning English Today || The KnowledgeThe Knowledge | Language & Exam Preparation School Bangkok

    Ta!

To live plenty of apartments up the top end of soi 16.
We lived in that area for over 10 years.

40/50k a month. Is that baht or ??

I had an office in the same building. All sorts of nice service apts close by.
Expect to pay 30 to 50k baht per month depending on your poshness level.
Less expensive can be found further up Sukhumvit Road. You can live quite a way from the office. Both underground and Sky train stops near by.

Sorry know nothing of the gig.

No can find condos between 10,000 and 20,000 even less if you look around at the top of the soi.
Can walk to work in 10 minutes.

Baht. And I can top it up with IELTS examining (have examined in China for four years) and a private here or there, so could probably get it up to about 70-80K/month, without burning myself out.

You can get a 4 story shophouse for 10k up there (top of soi 22).

Standard room in an apartment with air 3500-4000k

20k will get you a nice apartment in a newish place with all mod cons

Is there some online resource where you could find rental property listings ? Is it better to maybe go local and "ask around" for rental prices via local friends (yes, I do have some friends in Chiang Mai) or should I rely on classified ads ?

Would depend on what Ben needed, right? Is this for a single man or family? Schools, commute, interests, children safe, wife safe, shopping, etc. Pretty expensive living for someone on 50-60K baht don't ya think? More than 1/3 of his income. Could always live in the Wat for free...just saying.

Decent condo (preferably with pool) in the area. Single, no family. Wifi, fridge and washing machine/laundry necessary.

Poke around on this site. Will give you an idea. I did search for all Sukhumvit. Prices less the farther out you go.

You could live quite far from your office if willing to ride the BTS or MRT. Both have stops near your office.
