John Pilger - War you don't see.

Interesting documentary by John Pilger. Also interesting to hear altered opinions by the BBC reporters.

The War You Don't See * Pt 1 Video

Sure it's available on youtube but it's blocked at my end.

Can't see why it should be blocked, it is not about Thailand..
The documentary is (or was a few month ago) available for torrent downloading, I think I got it from Isohunt. Well worth downloading !
The youtube parts you linked to loads for me though.

Why he isn't in Burma jungle filming the Junta soldiers torturing civilians ?

If watching Pilgers documentaries does not make you question your beliefs then you have a totally closed mind.We are treated like mushrooms and only courageous reporters such as Pilger will present the alternative and one would believe the true story. We are ignorant of what really happens it seems and without being total sceptics need to challenge and question before forming firm opinions.A real eye opener for me.

There is a shiteload of alternative material/info quite available. It's just that no one pays much creed towards it and the usual suspects will tend to create a spin campaign towards anything that isn't associated with the establishment convention and officialdom. John Pilger has been a maverick for years.....more folks need to imbibe his {at al} work.

Since Pilger cant even get the basics right about Assanges case in Sweden, there is good reason to look at his journalism with critical eyes, still he can be entertaining/interesting but an unbiased advocate of the only truth he is not.

The one above + been reading many of his articles, the point being if you go catastrophically wrong with basic facts in a story (that you could easily have researched by googling) then it warrants that all your stuff is taken with healthy skepticism and not just eaten raw. (like all journalists stuff should)

I'm not going to go into the whole documentary or his Assange fuckups but it must be quite obvious to you that he uses a broad palette of journalistic tools to take the viewers/readers down the road he wishes, nothing wrong with that if you want to present a parts view, but it is not neutral observing journalism.

That said he is interesting to read and see.

He's made some great doco's, really. His best, imo, was about Timor- before the world knew. But I think you'd love the demolition job he did on his native Australia- to help celebrate their bicentenary.
He's pretty much anti-everything really, so don't feel sorry for the swedes. They've got sauna's, and orgies that would knock your socks off. They'll live.

I've read one of his books (A Secret Country) & have watched 3 of his documentaries.

John Pilger stands for one thing...freedom.
If you can't understand this, feel free to robotically follow any government/political party/religion you so desire.
