They're all in hiding somewhere, with new lives, maybe part of the government "witness relocation program" or something like it. They'll be coming out soon with a big "Ha! Ha! - got you all! You all thought it was terrorists but we all agreed to take part in this top secret exercise so we could start a war - and kill 3,000 people at the same time. Hmm, pity about that. But anyway, we're back!"
^RDN, calm down. You have to realize you can't win a rational debate with these people - because they're not rational, and this isn't a debate. If it were a debate, they would present their own evidence, facts, logic, and reasoning to prove the position that they've taken. They haven't done so, because they haven't any. What they have, is feelings of inadequacy, marginalization, and persecution, probably fueled by (real or imagined) impotence. You should pity them, much the way you would the fourth-place finisher in the Special Olympics. I know I do.

The sleep of reason brings forth monsters.
I think it comes down to being skeptic vs. gullible
and guess what it works on both ways. Are you gullible to government lies or conspiracy nuts theories ? or are you skeptic to government lies or conspiracy nuts theories ?
basically it means that both sides are clueless and can be both manipulated. We don't know what happened exactly and we will never know because some key evidences have been taken away from the public (like the full cam footage in the Pentagon)
we may not know how it happened. we may not know why it happened. we do, however, know that lots and lots of families are now missing a loved one over the holiday season...
... and to claim otherwise is the folly - IMHO
people got killed, that's for sure. How many ? we don't know. It could be more for all we know.
But the government hasn't presented any evidence that the said terrorists did it. Their evidence is as thin as those conspiracy nuts and yet some of you are ready to believe it without much more explanation. So at the end, we know nothing and have nothing. CMN is no more a conspiracy nut than RDN, they just believe in different silly theories.
the bit i find hard to believe is that CMN really believes in the conspiracy theory.
That is not true, plenty of evidence and reasoning here, it's just I don't find it convincing.Originally Posted by Niteowl

Did you know that between 1997 and 1999 there were 136 reported security violations at Boston [Logan] airport? I know Flight 77 took off from Dulles, but it hardly had a much better record. Indeed, the only ariport out of the three used by the highjackers which came close to meeting security standards was Newark.
At the time of 9/11, getting on a domestic flight in the US was akin to hailing a cab. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

To be perfectly honest it is preposterous to suggest this videotape could be authentic, but lets have a look at it anyway. Here's 5 Osamas - which is the odd one out?
Ok, fine but that hardly show that the islamists did it. It could have been Mossad or anybody.Originally Posted by William
Yep, and the question we all ask is why it didn't happen sooner. I was always puzzled by the ease of travelling in the US. I guess it's no longer the case.Originally Posted by William
If there's "plenty of evidence", why hasn't anyone posted any? Just saying, "I doubt this...", or "I doubt that..." isn't evidence. As I pointed out in an earlier post, it is the argument from incredulity, a logical fallacy.
It's really very simple. A point of view is either rational, or irrational. If it's irrational, the product of a mental/personality disorder, say, or one that was arrived at under the influence of drugs or alcohol, then there's no point in a debate.
But, if it's rational, that implies that you have arrived at your conclusion through an examination of facts and evidence available to you, and applied logic and reason to form your point of view. Fine. Then, present the facts and evidence you have, and your reasoning, and let's see if they stand up to scrutiny. That's in the nature of a debate, to try to arrive at the truth of a matter.
But what I see, is a personal rant, directed at the government, disguised as a debate. At the very least, this is intellectually dishonest.
And seizing on a national tragedy, simply to draw attention to your rant, is worse than dishonest. As an American, I find it personally offensive.
This sounds rather irrational to me!Originally Posted by Niteowl
And offensive, one might add, implying that those who doubt the official version are either mentally disturbed or under the influence.
Hasn't this happened here? Example: the evidence (or lack of it): no pics of any plane re Pentagon. Logic applied from point of view of conspiracy theory: there must have been pics of a plane or its debris - conclusion: there was no plane.Originally Posted by Niteowl
A logic fallacy - perhaps. The argument appeals to common sense and probability. But the evidence is not conclusive.
The 'official' version, by contrast, relies, to some extend, on the fallacy of authority related to arguments.
Before someone calls me a conspiracy nut, as I said, I don't find the arguments convincing. But an indication of a mental problem or drugs? I think not.

^^
wel written twaddle.
show me the fuking plane.
my mind is open.
I am not to argue this! I do not want to believe that anyone would want to kill like that, not even the Islamic's. So how could I believe that my own country would do it.
And is Bush the Antichrist well I don't think so because then we all would like him. Is that the case? I don't think so.
It seems like conspiracy is the only thing that thrives anymore. Fugg nobody wants to believe in good anymore so maybe the end of the world is coming!!
Don't under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly what I was thinking earlier.
Brilliant Stroller. "No pictures" is your evidence - a lack of any evidence is your evidence.
What a pity you don't have pictures of something else. Oh, I forgot, Big Brother took them all away.
