MA Rep Capuano (D) Advocates Violence in Union Dispute.

Stupid fucking libs always overreach. This time is no exception. They have that union organizer thug in the white house. Senator moonbeam.

So I wany Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi to call a press conference, wring her moronic hands & wail about how she saw violence up close in the sixties when Ayers & his murdering band of cuthroats in SDS & Weather Underground were calling for the violent overthrow of the government.

And she needs to condemn Rep Michael Capuano's call for blood at a rally in Mass. on Feb 20 2011.

Dem Rep to unions: Time to get

He needs to face charges of sedition. I think we could impeach him on failure to uphold the Constitution. A document he detests. Just like the Supreme Leader BHO. hobo.

    Fucking libs disgust me.

Yeah those rich motherfuckers like Ted Turner, George Soros & Michael Moore are getting rich. Like the Kennedys & John & Teresa Hienz Kerry. Rich goons like them. Miscreants.

Let's bash the unions and the lowly paid worker in unions, while the Wall Street banksters, frauds, and manipulators not only get off, but get rewarded for the deeds.

I think the problem with the unions/gov employees is much like the problems that people rail about withe rich in the Private sector.
There are a good % of people in the union who are very hard working and not looking for a hand out. but then in the union you have the same thing that we see in the government and the rich in private industry. I would be really curious to follow the money trail of the folks who run the union as well.. Might be surprising... The thing bothers me maybe as much or more than the salary/benefit issues is the fact that if you have tenure it is hard to be fired regardless of your performance. I think the thing that is being missed here is that the people with tenure are the ones who have it made... Work 20 years and get a 6 figure plus taxpayer funded pension? WOW>. .. NO THANKS... Ill take my chances to do it myself I don't need the rich, the union or the government to do it for me....

I have to say this in regards to the views I see on both Republicans and Democrats...
    1. Democrats and their spending is going to kill us. The way they want to erode the values that we were taught growing up is insane. (Yes I know the old argument about Bush and his spending) Here's the thing I Bush would have run as a Democrat the party of Obama/Clinton would have loved him... Another thing... What about this 2007 call of "Not one more day, not one more dollar, not one more American life" ? Seems to me the party that promised to bring our soldiers home seems to have forgotten that promise... Guess they were all brain washed by SCIOPS huh?

    2. Republicans. Right now its all about how the conservatives in the republican party are in control and so on.. Problem is the people in the republican party today don't fit into the mold of conservatives. They are only interested in regaining power, and to do that they need to appear to keep a few of the promises they made during the campaign. Don't misunderstand I find my self leaning more towards supporting them than the dems but to be honest I don't like/trust any of them. Now I know what I have said here is going to make a few Republicans mad and thats okay.. The fact of the matter is what is passing for conservatives today would have been called far LEFT 50 years ago. oh and G BUSH well I heard it said once that he was a "liberal in conservative clothing" and that is very true.

One final thing... I heard an advert for a CD of great conservative speeches.... I found myself saddened and disgusted by the fact that they roll the likes of Palin, Bush, and McCain into the same company as Ron Regan... That is an insult to Regan....

Republican says won't back down in union battle

MADISON, Wisconsin (Reuters) - Wisconsin's Republican Governor Scott Walker said on Sunday he would not back down in his confrontation with state public sector unions and repeated his threat to lay off state workers if the standoff continues.

The morass of laws in the US is a minefield that i'm not paid to tackle, but I would think there are grounds to impeach him. Unions have a right to exist as such, even if under the Constitutional right of freedom of association, and a third party cannot forcibly prevent them from consulting with each other and bargaining as a collective, via their appointed advocate. If I am wrong, then surely lawyers, doctors and employer associations fall under the same mantle- and should be also attacked in reciprocation. Professional associations in particular engage in blatant price rigging (nay, gouging), which could be easily deemed anti-competitive.

With a bit of imagination and will, I would think this disengenous and unfair 'fight' could be visited right back on their own doorstep.

Here's a good sign that speaks the reality of it all:
Reality? How? Where? To what degree?

This is not about "reality" but perception.

I cannot note the specifics of teacher unions, I think they are needed.

Over 50% of those who go into teaching in the U.S. leave teaching within 5 years.

Education is not valued highly in the United States.

Look at the value placed on the military and military industrial complex and Pentagon compared to education.

    Good priorities?

in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.

OK...and how does that pertain to the public service union demise that's going on in the States?

In this book "Public Unions and the Socialist Utopia", Robert Tracinski nailed the reality of the situation that is going on in Wisconsin:
The Democratic lawmakers who have gone on the lam in Wisconsin and Indiana-and who knows where else next-are exhibiting a literal fight-or-flight response, the reaction of an animal facing a threat to its very existence.

Why? Because it is a threat to their existence. The battle of Wisconsin is about the viability of the Democratic Party, and more: it is about the viability of the basic social ideal of the left.

It is a matter of survival for Democrats in an immediate, practical sense. As Michael Barone explains, the government employees' unions are a mechanism for siphoning taxpayer dollars into the campaigns of Democratic politicians.

But there is something deeper here than just favor-selling and vote-buying. There is something that almost amounts to a twisted idealism in the Democrats' crusade. They are fighting, not just to preserve their special privileges, but to preserve a social ideal. Or rather, they are fighting to maintain the illusion that their ideal system is benevolent and sustainable.

BOMB THREAT At Scott Walker News Conference – Leftist Protester Arrested

Far Left protester Patrick J. Knauf, 43, of Eau Claire was arrested on Wednesday for the violation of making a bomb scare under state statute 947.015.

On Wednesday a bomb threat was made at an aviation business in Eau Claire just hours after Governor Scott Walker spoke there. Police brought in a man who was protesting this week against the Republican governor.

Average Annual Compensation for Milwaukee Teachers is $101,091

. . . The posting quoted MPS’ budget manager as saying that the average MPS teacher would receive total compensation of $101,091 — $59,500 in salary and $41,591 in benefits.
We double-checked with MPS spokeswoman Roseann St. Aubin and she confirmed the figures.
We wanted to compare the $101,091 for MPS teachers to other teachers, but the latest figurescompiled by the state Department of Public Instruction are for 2009-2010, two years earlier.
Those figures show for 2009-2010, MPS teachers earned, on average, $56,095 in salary plus $30,202 in benefits, for a total of $86,297.
That was lower than eight other school districts in Milwaukee County, including Greendale, Greenfield, Shorewood, Cudahy, Fox Point, South Milwaukee, Franklin and Nicolet, which was highest at just over $103,000.
Let’s return to the MacIver Institute claim.
The conservative think tank said the average annual compensation for a Milwaukee Public Schools teacher would exceed $100,000 in 2011. As of July 1, 2011, according to the school district, that figure will be $101,091.

Did you ever notice how many labor unions exist in totalitarian countries (collectivist or not)? Actually, the answer is none. In a healthy society, labor unions are a counter-balance against the excesses of big government and big business. Name a country in modern history that has eliminated labor unions I'll name you a fascist or communist country.

Only a minute few have realized this in the last couple of years, yet these serious problems have existed for decades (except for the high unemployment).

The 'masses' are waking up - to wit:
Collective Bargaining in Action: $10K a Year For Not Working, $6K to Carry a Pager, Two Pensions

Today Governor Walker’s office released more specific examples and new details to show how collective bargaining fiscally impacts government and how reforming collective bargaining can improve government.
A Year’s Worth of Pay for 30 Days of Work
Under the Green Bay School District’s collectively bargained Emeritus Program, teaches can retire and receive a year’s worth of salary for working only 30 days over a three year period. This is paid in addition to their already guaranteed pension and health care payouts.
At the average annual salary for a Green Bay teacher of $51,355, this amounts to a daily rate of pay of $1,711.83, or an hourly rate of $213.98. Since most retiring teachers receive higher than average salary, these amounts are, in practice, much higher.

    140 teacher retirement requests approved

There's more to warm the cockles of your socialists' hearts:

Yesterday the Governor’s office released these examples of the fiscal impact of collective bargaining.
    No Volunteer Crossing Guards Allowed
A Wausau public employee union filed a grievance to prohibit a local volunteer from serving as a school crossing guard. The 86-year-old lives just two blocks away and serves everyday free of charge.
Principal Steve Miller says, “He said, you know, this gives me a reason to get up in the morning to come and help these kids in the neighborhood.”
But for a local union that represents crossing guards, it isn’t that simple. Representatives didn’t want to go on camera but say if a crossing guard is needed, then one should be officially hired by the city.
    Source: WAOW-TV, 1/27/10
$6,000 Extra for Carrying a Pager
Some state employees, due to the nature of their positions, are required to carry pagers during off-duty hours in order to respond to emergency situations. Due to the collective bargaining agreements, these employees are compensated an extra five hours of pay each week, whether they are paged or not.
For an employee earning an average salary of $50,000 per year, this requirement can cost more than $6,000 in additional compensation.
Source: 2008-09 Agreement between the State of Wisconsin and AFSCME Council 24
    $150,000 Correctional Officers
Correctional Officer collective bargaining agreements allow officers a practice known as “sick leave stacking.” Officers can call in sick for a shift, receiving 8 hours of sick pay, and then are allowed to work the very next shift, earning time-and-a-half for overtime. This results in the officer receiving 2.5 times his or her rate of pay, while still only working 8 hours.
In part because of these practices, 13 correctional officers made more than $100,000 in 2009, despite earning base wages of less than $60,000 per year. The officers received an average of $66,000 in overtime pay for an average annual salary of more than $123,000 with the highest paid receiving $151,181.

    The $150,000 Bus Driver
In 2009, the City of Madison’s highest paid employee was a bus driver who earned $159,258, including $109,892 in overtime, guaranteed by a collective bargaining agreement. In total, seven City of Madison bus drivers made more than $100,000 per year in 2009.
“That’s the (drivers’) contract,” said Transit and Parking Commission Chairman Gary Poulson.

A NEW LEFTIST RECORD… 18 WI Republicans Receive Death Threats This Week

18 Wisconsin Republicans received death threats in one week! Not only are the “tolerant” leftists calling for the death of Governor Scott Walker.

Not only are they sending Republicans senators death threats by email.
They’re slipping death threats under their doors.

Governor Scott Walker could be the best thing to happen to the Wisconsin Democrats in decades. It looks like Walker, the arrogant college dropout turd of a governor, will most likely be recalled within a year. 14 of the 19 Republican state senators who rammed through Walker's union-busting bill are from districts that were won by Obama in 2008. Several of the Republican state senators who by law can be recalled this year will probably cost Walker his Republican majority within a few months. Governor Walker has clearly turned the majority of Wisconsin voters against him. This is a mirror image of the pushback that Obama felt from the Tea Party due to his health care reforms. There will be tens of thousands of demonstrators in the capitol Madison today, far more than any recent Tea Party show of support in Wisconsin. This could be interesting.

By choosing to attack collective bargaining rather than focusing on a majority supported deficit reduction issue, he's now seeing result of his politically unacceptable decision.

The issue is the deficit! In order to reduce the deficit, cost cuts are needed. To get the cost cuts he is going to have to bargain with individual and collective employees. I have not read the bill everyone is up in arms about but if it eliminates or severely restricts the right of employees, collectively or otherwise, to bargain with their employer it certainly will be unpopular.

No question, deficit reduction at all levels of government are needed. The onus is on the government to put forth a cost reduction proposal then bargain with employees. Just the way things are whether employer is government or private.

One curiousity about the Wisconsin protests. America's so-called "liberal media" has shown almost no visual images of the massive crowds of protesters. In evening news shows and mainstream newspapers there's very little to convey an image of widespread popular dissent. The below amateur video shows what 85,000-100,000 protesters looked like last weekend in Madison (the text under the video claims 200,0000, but that appears to be overstated). The central square of that small city isn't very spacious, but you can see a large overflow of protesters down the side-streets. If the mainstream media is as liberal as the Fox-tards claim, why is their photographic and video coverage of these protests so understated?

Heh...THE “SMOKING GUN” of the Wisconsin Teachers’ Union Sickout. “Now there is proof that the sickout was a premeditated, union-authorized job action — a phone tree of teachers calling other teachers to close down the schools. This kind of activity is prohibited by the union’s own contract and illegal in WI Statute Chapter 111.84(2)(e).”
