Why not let her run? I encourage it. It will mean a slam dunk for any opposition candidate. A blind, 1 legged, single black lesbian could win against Palin. Sure, the nutters would come out of the woods to vote for her, the 'base' will definitely love it, but America is all about the middle ground, and Palin is just too much of a wack-job to capture the middle ground.

The religious nutters is what I'm worried about. The Evangelicals make up 28.6% of the USA population according to a 2007 census. They usually come together and vote together and most support Palin or an equivalent. ie Bush.

The american electorate do seem to like their presidents on the dark side of dim.

As for palin; I would say the idea of her election is no more ridiculous than Ronald Reagan's election would have seemed to many in the 1970's. I could easily see her as president and I find the idea quite worrying, perhaps they could loose the bomb codes for the whole term rather than just 3 months.
