Okay lets say his comments were right, why did he apologize??

I mean if I know I am speaking the truth and I am right then I will never step back.

Actually the Pope was telling us what the Christians think of Muslims and Islam and all Muslims should be well aware of what the Christians think.

I cant believe that a person who represents the whole 1.1 billion Catholic Christians would make such a statement.

That's not true. As Macha stated "He was only "quoting a 14th Century Christian emperor who said the Prophet Muhammad had brought the world only "evil and inhuman" things."

Maybe a Muslim cleric should quote what some muslim said about left footers two centuries ago to even it up.Then all the catholic extreamists shoud go out ang kill a few Muslims.Sound fair?

he's not exercising his right to free speech....he addressing the world as the religious leader of nearly 1 billion people. it was obviously an insensitive thing to say at a time when in history when presidents speak of 'crusades' and 'good vs evil'.

he should apologize for using the quote. he allegedly is an educated and sophisticated man....he can prove it by doing what is civil....apologize.

if/when extremist muslim clerics quote hitler and goebbels, they should apologize as well.

and i don't know if they will, would, could or might, but if 'we' (christians and jews) are so much more highly evolved than these 'ragheads who haven't done anything for civilization', isn't the onus on 'us'? (ha again)

He should really give himself up to them for a decent be-heading, rather than let anyone else die. I would of thought death should hold no fear for him and I'm sure god could quite easily find another "representitive on earth"
