For those unlightened ones:
Isn't it about time the United States of America was deemed unconstitutional?
The Founding Fathers had no intention of giving women and blacks the vote.
Actually we did have a 'righter than Right' Amerkin here contributing to issues (forget who) who had seen his family go through the distress and horror of being denied Health care insurance compensation- even though they had been paying their premiums- because of some typically sleazy insurance company cop out. He remained proudly redneck, but not when it came to Health care reform strangely enough.
And to think those mugs pay well over double what the rest of us do for this lark.
Very sorry to hear about your mother Larv- my condolences.

More Bad News for Dems… 58% of Americans Are Against Individual Mandate – Only 39% Approve of the Unconstitutional Measure
More bad news for the Socialists, eh?
58% of Americans disagree with the individual mandate in Obamacare. Only 39% think the unconstitutional measure is a good idea. And, 54% of voters now say individual states should have the right to opt out of Obamacare.
Rasmussen reported:More than half the states are challenging the constitutionality of the new federal health care law in court, many focusing on the requirement that every American must have health insurance. More voters than ever oppose that requirement and think states should have the right to opt out of some or all of the health care law.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 39% of Likely U.S. Voters at least somewhat favor a federal law that requires every American to buy or obtain health insurance, while 58% at least somewhat oppose such a requirement. The new findings include 21% who Strongly Favor the requirement versus 44% who are Strongly Opposed. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Most voters have expressed skepticism about requiring all Americans to obtain health insurance since the debate over health care began heating up early in the Obama presidency. Opposition is up five points from last March just after Democrats in Congress passed the health care law with that mandate.
Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters now say individual states should have the right to opt out of the entire health care plan, up from 47% in December 2009. Thirty percent (30%) disagree and say states should not be able to do that. Fifteen percent (15%) are not sure.

Update...ObamaCare Will Kill 800,000 Jobs
Here's what Congressional Budget Office Director Doug Elmendorf has to say about ObamaCare's effect on the already stratospheric unemployment rate:Rep. [John] Campbell: Thank you, Mr. Chairman, we'll — and Dr. Elmendorf — and we'll continue this conversation right now. First on health care, before I get to — before I get to broader issues, you just mentioned that you believe — or that in your estimate, that the health care law would reduce the labor used in the economy by about 1/2 of 1 percent, given that, I believe you say, there's 160 million full-time people working in '20-'21. That means that, in your estimation, the health care law would reduce employment by 800,000 in '20-'21. Is that correct?Director Elmendorf: Yes. The way I would put it is that we do estimate, as you said, that… employment will be about 160 million by the end of the decade. Half a percent of that is 800,000.

what would you do to fix our bloated for profit healthcare system?
should we do nothing and just let it ride?
America's healthcare system is not the best in the world as we hear politicians say everyday... that is just a outright lie...
personally I am in favor of a one-payer system like the rest of the western world... this obamacare shit is just some hashed up boondoggle...

For starters, get a job and get on your employer's insurance. Doesn't appear there is an easy, one answer for the problem but I know this; paying for illegal aliens health care, abortion etc is not the way to go...
Good to see Larv the lib is out of the closet.
What is Obamacare for? Easy. To cover illegal immigrants & to supply free taxpayer funded abortions to all comers.
Great catroon Boon. Nails it spot on.
Since when can daddy government force anyone to purchase anything they don't want?
Answer Never. A Federal Judge in Florida has already ruled the bullshit is uncomnstitutional but the union organizer in chief has thumbbed his nose at the judge & the American people. Bamboy really doesn't like the Constitution.
Time to impeach him.
Barack Hussein Obama lying polecat. Libs Only Comply With Laws They Agree With.
Not that I agree with it but they have forced purchase of SS for all and Medicare for those over 65. Also forced to pay tax even if we don't live in US.Originally Posted by dotcom

The two issue's that necessitated it are quite clear. First, you pay 200-300% of your GDP towards health care compared to other advanced nations- and these costs have been inflating rapidly. Second, some 20% of your population is uninsured- in fact probably more now, with the financial crisis and job losses.
It will be 7-10 years before the savings start kicking in appreciably, but HC reform is by far the most significant legislation Obama has passed to rein in the chronic fiscal deficits in the US too. More will be needed though to stop your government going broke.
You are not forced to "buy" anything.

But here is what you haven't thought about.
Once the government takes over healthcare it will start to set the prices for stuff.
Then the government will need to begin to shit doctors because students will not want to become doctors & work for whatever chickenshit wages Bamboy & his cronies decide.
You're 85. You need a hip replacement. The death panel is gonna say no.
Let's get this up to the Supreme Court ASAP. They will wipe their ass with this middle of the night - I didn't read the bill bullshit.

Obama to Governors (March 1st),…..If you can come up with a better Health Care plan, that covers as many people, as affordably, as comprehensively, without increasing the deficit as the plan that was passed, he’s says he’ll let the state implement that plan and work with you/that state.
Another words,..put up or shut up.

Looks like Judge Vinson has had enough of Bamboy shooting the middle finger to federal Judges who have ruled that Obamacare is unconstitutional.
A justice dept that was not run by Communists would have asked for an injunction. However what we have is a lawless rogue administration (the executive branch) who rule by fiat & do whatever they damn well please & the will of the courts & the will of the people BE DAMNED.

Florida Judge Declines to Halt Health Reform Implementation | The Rundown News Blog | PBS NewsHour | PBS
Excerpts QUOTE:
A Florida judge on Tuesday refused to order the government to stop implementing the health care reform law, handing the Obama administration at least a temporary victory in the ongoing legal battle over reform.
...
The judge did criticize the administration, though, for its response to the ruling. He said that he had intended the original decision to act as an "injunction" that would stop implementation of the law, and that he had expected that the government would immediately file a request for a stay.
Vinson wrote that he did not expect that the government "would effectively ignore the order and declaratory judgment for two and one-half weeks, continue to implement the act, and only then file a belated motion to 'clarify.'"
He gave the administration seven days to file the appeal.
boy o boy - if the libs thought Dick Cheney was lawless ... ditto rummy & ashcroft...
What do they think about the mixed race messiah?

Of course you are. SS payments are mandatory all during your working life. SS is nothing more than a government mandatory payroll "insurance" payment covering all sorts of benefits of which retirement benefits is one.Originally Posted by dotcom
Medicare is also a mandatory health insurance program. Premiums must be paid by all 65 or over weather one uses benefits or not.
Both are indeed "socialist" programs and have been tested and upheld as constitutional many times in the supreme court.
If SS or medicare are any indication, the hope the SC will deem "Obama care" unconstitutional does not tally with SC precedence.
Like it or not, the government does force all to "buy" insurance. All of which are same with private insurance coverage. Risk is spread across those insured. Some will receive benefits far beyond what they have paid in and others far less.
Who and what should be covered under these programs seems to be where we get the most heated debate.
For what it's worth. Illegals should not be covered. Until abortion becomes illegal, it should be covered. Those with no insurance should be covered. I believe healthy human resources are of economic value to the country.
There will be those who commit fraud as there are in private insurance enterprise. Those who do must be prosecuted.
The ability to put in place a less cost, better than we have health care system will depend on our Congress to bridge the differences between the far right and far left. On the one hand "health care is a privilege" on the other "health care is a right". Wish them success because by any measure we do not have the best or least costly system by a long shot. All seem in agreement here.
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect,"
Yesterday Health Care for America Now released a report that shows that the big five insurers earned $11.7 billion in 2010 - a 51% increase since 2008 - as they cut the number of people insured by millions and reduced the share of premiums they spend on actual medical care. So they made more money by charging more and providing less. It's a great business model if you can swing it - sell a product for higher and higher prices, offer less and then try to deny services to your paying customers when they actually need it.
The big profit gains were led by UnitedHealth, which reported $4.6 billion in earnings last year, up 21 percent from the 2009. WellPoint, the parent of Blue Cross plans in 14 states, including New York, California, Virginia, Georgia, Missouri and Ohio, earned $2.9 billion, up 13 percent from 2009; Aetna made $1.8 billion, up 38 percent; Cigna recorded $1.3 billion, up 3 percent; and Humana took $1 billion, up 6 percent.
..... According a report by Public Campaign Action Fund, these five companies alone spent nearly $50 million lobbying lawmakers from 2008 to 2010, and their employees and political action committees spent more than $7.3 million on campaign contributions. Imagine what the rest of their industry spent!
Of course it's no shock that America's big insurance companies make huge amounts of money and then spend millions to own the Republican Party, which then protects their ability to make excessive profits and pay bloated CEO salaries. This is exactly why the consumer protections in the Affordable Care Act are so important. And it's what's wrong with a political system dominated by corporate money instead of people.

Charge more and provide less- great business model. Is that what free enterprise means?
Heh...not only did the Obama Administration add another $100 billion to the cost of Obamacare one month after the bill was rammed through Congress but today the Obama Administration admitted to fraud. The White House and Democrats double-counted $500 billion in Obamacare in order to make it look like the bill was going to save the American taxpayers some cash.

A quick look at the approval rating for HC reform, one year since passing-
"Americans are divided on whether passage of the law that "restructures the nation's healthcare system" is a good thing (46 percent) or bad thing (44 percent)."
Still highly divided along party political lines too, although I note Republican disapproval has dropped overall-
Health Reform Law: Same Opinions One Year Later
Considering the gigantic HC reform process will only begin to be felt by US citizens in 2014, these approval figures and the way they are holding up are quite encouraging. As the article points out, the 'interim' period when the reforms are in the pipeline rather than made real is of course going to be exploited by opponents of the HC reform process, specifically by spreading disinformation and uncertainty. We'll be reading about alien Death panels, free abortions for underaged whales, godless Socialism, and free coverage for drug dealing II's for some time yet. And of course that HC reform is Unconstitutional.
