Muslim Scholars: Airport Scanners Against Religion

These "religious" and "cultural" issues are so common today. I don't recall these issues 5 years ago. 10 years ago.

Are these Islamic issues in the west more common now because of the higher population, or because they are more vocal or a mixture of both?

Muslim scholars: Airport scanners against our religion

    February 12, 2010

    ASSOCIATED PRESS
Saying that body scanners that can see through clothes violate Islamic law, Muslim-American groups are supporting a "fatwa" -- a religious ruling -- that forbids Muslims from going through the scanners at airports.

So the scanners are going to be even more effective than anybody thought then?

A way to spend my tax dollars for which I would vote. Body scanners not only at airports but at bus stations, ships, taxi stands, restaurants, movie theaters, schools, public buildings, courts - the possibilities are endless!

Don't see a link to that newsflash.

I'd agree that body-scanners are an insult to human dignity.

That was the name of the article. I assume the interviewed some Muslim scholars.

If not, or if not mentioned, this article may be incorrect.

Also, they may be basing the title of the article based on one interview with one person. Even if a few people were interviewed that is not enough to claim, "Muslim scholar," correct?

A "Muslim Scholar" is pretty much any Muslim who has studied Islam, and then teaches or preaches. Some for real, some not. Hell, we have the REVERAND Jesse Jackson, the REVERAND Al Sharpton, etc. And I doubt that either of those two shysters have ever studied Christianity other than as a tool to separate people from their money and to avoid ever having a job.

Sorry for being pedantic but I'm gun shy as I had DrBob chasing me for a link to my opinion yesterday on the news forum.

Sounds like a good career move. Ian Paisley got his paper from Bobby Jones University. I don't know if he ever attended.

We only got these scanners because Muslims board planes in the first place.

Not only Islamic 'Law' . . . it is also against western beliefs of modesty.

    Absolutely

Why is this being held up as a Muslim thing again? Because they speak out about it?

How many westerners have spoken out about these scanners on an invasion of privacy issue?

I don't like the things either but will, of course, have to accept it . . . not as a personal affront

But you have to admit these scans and fingerprints and other security measures are intended to protect all of us against some extremist muslim who could bomb a plane.

Ever seen an israeli or an european trying to bomb a plane recently ? Ever seen an occidental people heading to the checkpoint hidden under a full veil or a burqa ? Ever heard about a woman who refuse to be examined by a male doctor ?

Those people who cannot adapt to the modern world should cross the sea swimming or on a camel, another option is having muslim only air company so they can blow themself off.

We have to put a stop to the islamisation of our society, give them a finger they will eat your whole arm. Motherfucker they are.

Timothy McVeigh didn't drive a truckload of ammonium nitrate & diesel fuel onto an airplane and explode it either...

And what religion was Jacques Mesrine ? It just happen that most of the terrorists are muslims.

Is it our fault coz we don't leave our seat to let them take the power ? Or is it coz they are not able to adapt to the reality of the world today. This religion (I'm polite, I should call it a sect) want us all, the 3/4 of the population of the world to lean forward a bloodthirsty and paedophile prophet ?

Now you're living on another planet, buy a ticket to France, belgium, Holland or any other nordic european nation and you'll be very happy to fly back in Asia, even in Indonesia.

You cannot imagine what happen about the islamisation of Europe ... against the will of the european citizens but with the benediction of the european governments.

Take some time to live there and spend less time in front of the keyboard so you can taste the real world of islam killing the european civilization.

Your avatar suit you very well, a monkey who don't know anything more than his moobaan in Indonesia.

Isn't it obvious, no religion i know of approves a body scanner, which means checking out other peoples nude body.......

Why the hell does everybody seem to hate muslims here....don't get me wrong i am not religious and come from iran and don't share sentiments that you are used to see on tv ...like..death to america etc......but the fact is that american government is responsible for many thousends of deaths in muslim and non muslim countries every single year, predominantly south america ( 10% of nicaraguan population died because america wanted a rightwing government in the late 90's) kidnapped hugo chavez from his presidential house and now is kidnapping iranian diplomats and scientists.................

Can you understand why people all over the world are pissed at america and the west? i suppose not

I know about the social problems that immigration has caused......but it is your governments fault. Bringing a lot of workers Illiterate from the mountains of morrocco and turkey ( in case of holland where i work) who have no own culture to begin with, these people were on the edge of society where they came from and are dropped in a foreig country and worked in a factory for 20-30 years and have not and could not raise their childeren, and you expect them to be usefull members of the society??
anyway lol i should not bother...

No scan, no fly. Then they can blame their religion for not allowing them aboard aircraft. This is the modern world and it is no place for ancient beliefs, and buggar me we wouldn't need scanners if it wasn't for THEM!
I know, offer an alternative bus service. They can't complain then, well only about the 3 weeks it would take to get to rag head land and the increadible expense.
Falling asleep and waking up is not the same as passing out and coming to.
