Biblical prophecy claims the world will end on Sept. 23, Christian numerologists claim

A Christian numerologist claims that the world will end next Saturday when a planet will, supposedly, collide with Earth.

According to Christian numerologist David Meade, verses in Luke 21:25 to 26 are the sign that recent events, such as the recent solar eclipse and Hurricane Harvey, are signs of the apocalypse.

    The verses read:

“25: There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

"'26: Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.'

Sept. 23 is a date that was pinpointed using codes from the Bible, as well as a "date marker" in the pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Meade's views are not endorsed by Roman Catholic, Protestant or eastern Orthodox branches of Christianity.

Meade has built his theory on the so-called Planet X, which is also known as Nibiru, which he believes will pass Earth on Sept. 23, causing volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and earthquakes, according to British newspaper The Sun.

NASA has repeatedly said Planet X is a hoax.

For a certain branch of evangelical Christianity, Revelation 12:1–2, describes the beginning of what is known as the rapture and the second coming of Christ.

The passage reads: "And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth."

In the passage, the woman is Virgo. On Sept. 23, both the sun and the moon will be in Virgo, as will the planet Jupiter. However, this occurrence happens naturally once every 12 years. There is also a rare alignment, known as "the Lion of the tribe of Judah," which the conspiracy theorists are hanging their hats on.

According to the Express, author Jonathan Sarfati wrote that the same planetary coincidence previously happened four times in the last millennium.

"As usual with any astrology (or Christian adaptations of it), one cherry-picks the stars that fit the desired conclusion," Sarfati wrote, according to the Express. "There is nothing to suggest that 23 September is a momentous date for biblical prophecy, and Christians need to be careful about being drawn into such sensationalist claims."

Of course he only did it for the kids.

Report: Bill O’Reilly settled another sexual harassment claim for $32 million
Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly secretly settled a sexual harassment allegation with a network contributor for $32 million — the largest, by far, of six such agreements that eventually toppled the outspoken commentator, according to a new report.
The New York Times said Bill O’Reilly agreed to the settlement in January with Lis Wiehl, a longtime legal analyst at Fox who had worked with O’Reilly and had once offered him legal advice.
Despite knowledge of a settlement with Wiehl, Fox renewed its contract with O’Reilly in February, paying him $25 million per year over four years, the paper said.
In a brief interview on Saturday following publication of the Times story, O’Reilly declined to discuss details of the settlement with Wiehl, citing a confidentiality agreement. But he said he agreed to settle “to protect my children from the horror” of continuing adverse publicity had Wiehl’s allegations been litigated in court.
“That’s it,” O’Reilly said. “I knew if I took this to court there would be three years of unrelenting headlines. That’s why I did it.”

Bill pays out 32 MILLION ....

$32 million. Bill O'Reilly paid $32 million to a Fox News colleague who threatened to sue him for alleged sexual misconduct.

The staggering sum -- paid to longtime Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl -- was revealed in a New York Times exposé on Saturday.

The story immediately raised new questions about the ongoing Justice Department investigation into Fox News.
Observers speculated that the revelation could cause further trouble for Fox's parent company 21st Century Fox. British regulators said scandals in the U.S. have already threatened its attemptto acquire the European satellite network Sky.
In an interview, O'Reilly told The Times that "I never mistreated anyone" and "this is crap."

Fox gave Bill O'Reilly big contract after $32 million settlement - Oct. 21, 2017

I can't imagine why Fox News isn't reporting on this....

Interesting article following that one about WikiTribune and how founder Jimmy Wales wants to battle fake news. The Wikipaedia founder said that it was when Kellyanne Conway came up with the phrase "alternative facts" for her and Trump's lies, it was the last straw.

^? Please explain what is oxymoronic about "Fox News". Does the word "fox" somehow imply non-news? Or does "news" impart something definitively non-canidae?

    Anyway...
Fox is getting short with Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

I think she's smart and quick on her feet. Give her that. But liar and ingenuous purveyor of BS, she certainly is. I think it's significant that Fox allows a presenter to state she, and her boss, are liars.

I would agree but she is an evangelical christian who claims to read Scripture before she holds new conferences. I wonder if she skips over the ten commandments before she goes out and lies to the entire world.

I suspect that she, like most folks of her persuasion, is a Christian of Convenience: apologizing to Jebus in private for lying in public...probably spends a lot of time on her knees...

Take Fox to the cleaners for promoting conspiracy garbage!

Parents of slain DNC staffer sue Fox News

The parents of murdered Democratic National Committee staff member Seth Rich have filed a lawsuit against Fox News, alleging that the network “intentionally exploited” their son’s death by promoting conspiracy theories about it.

The lawsuit is centered on a story Fox News published on its website in May 2017 suggesting that federal investigators were in possession of evidence that Rich had leaked DNC emails to the website WikiLeaks weeks before he was shot in Washington’s Bloomingdale neighborhood. The story quickly became and has remained a focus of conspiracy theorists because it contradicted the assessment of the U.S. intelligence community that the Russian government was behind the email hacking at the DNC.

The lawsuit brought by Rich’s parents accuses Fox News and two individuals, reporter Malia Zimmerman and Dallas businessman and Fox News guest Ed Butowsky of seizing on Rich’s death in an effort to exonerate President Donald Trump of allegations that his campaign colluded with the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 election.

Under great scrutiny, Fox News retracted the story six days after it was published, but the lawsuit alleges that the network has permanently altered their son’s legacy by moving theories about his death “from the fringe to the front pages and screens of the mainstream media.”

“No parent should ever have to live through what we have been forced to endure,” Joel and Mary Rich said in a statement, according to ABC News. “The pain and anguish that comes from seeing your murdered son’s life and legacy treated as a mere political football is beyond comprehension.”

ABC News reported that Butowsky called it "one of the dumbest" lawsuits he'd ever seen. Fox declined to comment to ABC News since representatives had not viewed the complaint.

Fox News Analyst Quits, Calling Network a ‘Propaganda Machine’

A longtime analyst for Fox News is leaving the network, saying that he could not “in good conscience” remain with an organization that, he argued, “is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit.”

In a searing farewell note sent to colleagues on Tuesday, Ralph Peters, a Fox News strategic analyst and a retired lieutenant colonel in the United States Army, castigated the network for its coverage of President Trump and the rhetoric of its prime-time hosts.

“In my view, Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration,” Colonel Peters wrote in his message, a copy of which was obtained by The New York Times.

“Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association,” he added. “Now I am ashamed.”

Well he is spot on. It has to wear on these people after awhile. Living a lie everyday when you know that you are going to spew lies for hours on end over and over again.
