So, erm, where are the charges?

Why not move your base if it's closer to where you are supplying and gets you a tax break? BO is in charge now; did he fire Halli? Surely, Halli cannot be working for the US govt now?

Come now Jettie, we all know the reasons Halli moved it's corporate HQ. Tax is one of them, Legal 'seperation' another. I think even Halli executives have admitted as much.

For shame! What are those "smart" libbies in govt doing? Could it be that Halli has the best biz and solutions for the job? Not that those libbies in office would see that as a reason to hire a company...

^^ Arrrggghhh... Just follow the money...

We can only hope that the FBI turns up evidence of collusion on these no-bid contracts by Halliburton / Cheney / Bush...

You can almost imagine a conversation between members of the good ole boy network, discussing how to 'crank up' a new war and how to profit from it...

Many US Halliburton employees got axed when they moved their HQ from Houston to Dubai...
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

America's biggest problem is that there are some people on either coast that are concerned and want to find out what's going on and are willing to find out for themselves, and to be fair a few more scattered around the middle, up north and out in the Pacific. The rest(the majority), it doesn't matter what party they belong to, all throw their hands in the air and wail, "Please dear God! If you love me, don't make me have to do my homework and try to learn the truth! Please someone tell me what to believe and think so I don't have to decide for myself!!!"

FOX plays very well to those demographics.

Funny, when I'm in Thailand I will usually watch Al Jeezera. I started out of curiosity, but now I find it to have some of the most objective reporting of world news on the tube by a country mile.

    This is the problem.

    Ratings are the problem.

To get rating TV and radio shows have be entertaining, controversial, and do thing to keep viewers from turning the channel.

Ratings only mean 3 million viewers watch Fox per night. A drop in the bucket if you look at the entire voting populace.

In these parts logging on to Watch live online TV channels broadcasting on the Internet. will always show Fox outdoing MSNBC by a little less than double. The channel that wins it all is called, His Channel. Ain't that pretty? Shouting damnation holly-rolling Southern Baptist Christians first place, Fox news second.

let's end this once and for all.....yes, fox is the ratings leader in cable news, but what does that really mean?

outside of advertising dollars, not much.

cable news is for dim-witted people (of all ideological stripes) who need someone to tell them what to think. one only need to look at the posts here in issues to see who the fox supporters are.

and keep in mind that just this weekend roger aisles himself said he was in the ratings business. fox wants viewers more than anything else, and to get them, ailes is selling what he's been selling for decades....fear.

and btw, about 3-4 million people watch fox 'news'....while more than 10 million people watch NBC news, with 8 million for ABC and 7 million for CBS.

and just for a bit more perspective.....professional wrestling and sponge bob regularly have more viewers than fox 'news'.

So, the msm do shows for free, not for revenue?

Cable news is for dim-wits, so msm news is for numnuts? I watch msm nightly news almost daily -- cool, everything but the hard-hitting stuff and news with a libbie slant so as not to upset folks at the dinner table

Fox does not offer a "nightly" news prog, so how can you compare Fox with the three msm channels as per your linkie when there is no comparison to be made?

Numbers for the week of Jan. 18:

    NBCABCCBS• Total Viewers:10,280,0008,510,0006,540,000• A25-54:3,240,0002,450,0002,040,000
I watched all three msm tonight (yawn). For "news" progs, they sure are slanted in their views of what they report.

You have to watch all the casts to get a sense of who is playing what card.

Your libbie party is going down, ray. Better start job hunting coz the libbie benefits are going to fade away.

According to the figures you keep using FOX is the most popular, ergo they would be the msm...

^ 5555555555555 Touche, Slack. Knew that well when I worked in PR -- read all the dailies and more. What a laugh seeing the diff in reporting. So, I do read and watch several media so I can extrapolate the key points of a story from all the biased BS.

    Day 2/3 of Fox exposure

Came back from ahard day's work in the plantations and attending some schmooze event with the local vice-Governor who has large rubber estates.

Shower and chill for a while . .. switch on the TV and watch Fox. The morning shop with some airhead blonde who gets carries away easily, some blond airhead who sounds like he's simply a skinny good ole boy and a doctor who threw out all these 'facts' about Canadian health care and how terrible it was . . . . because some Canuck politician is coming to the US to have surgery.

I now believe the US system of health care is superior to that of Canada. I now believe that Canada is an evil socialist nirvana and every Canadian wants a US-style healthcare system . . . and Europe is bad as well.

Depressed I turned off the tv and had terrible night's sleep knowing that if I get sick I will need to spend all my savings on having to go the doc in the US to have my tonsils taken out

Woke up at 6, snoozed or a while, had my shower and switched on Fox to wake up. Luckily this is the time our favourite anti-hero is on - - - Glen Beck. Ok, he doesn't like either republicans nor democracts, but he hates democrats.

Today's lesson was about how China is dictating to the world what to do. Australia wanted to raise interest rates and China told them not to, so we didn't. The US is in the same boat, so to speak, as Britain was after WW2. Now it is China that tells the US what to do and Obama is China's bitch.

I am now afraid of getting sick, the reds are under the beds again

I agree and wish it were available in the US... The chances of that ever happening are between slim and none... The BBC is the only other broadcast news source I'll watch...

It's twue, it's twue... I remember a time when news organizations in the US actually reported the news as apposed to trying to create it...

The term 'cable news' has become an oxymoron... For all intents and purposes, it should be classified with Jerry Springer & Geraldo...

    ^^ Excellent!

I watch Fox at times just to fulfill my resolve to weigh in other views. It's hard to watch it for more than 2 minutes tho. It's so obvious they're a tool of phat cats and other corporate sperm.

Too bad you likely just tune into the opinion shows. MSNBC's Olbermann, Matthews and Maddow have the same effect on me, but even NBC Nightly News sucks: low on substance, high on rhetoric, just like Obama.

Sadly, if you are talking about Gretchen Carlson she isn't actually an airhead, she puts on a dumb act for the viewers.

After graduating valedictorian from her high school,

Carlson graduated with Honors from Stanford University, in 1990, with a specialized degree in the field of Sociology (organizational behavior). While a student at Stanford, she studied abroad at Oxford University

Gretchen Carlson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

She is also an accomplished violinist.

Jon Stewart did an excellent piece on her in December:

Gretchen Carlson dumbs herself down to connect with an audience who sees intellect as an elitist flaw.
