Obama played those birther perfectly, let them got momentum to make a fool of themselves

but with fools, there is no shortage of opportunities, so they will find something else soon

Indeed, if your opponents look like they are going to hang themselves, the best thing to do is to give them the rope.

Trump is no fool. He wants a Republican president and he realises that isn't going to happen until certain issues are brought into the open. The birthers have been made fools of, but more importantly Obama has now fired that shot.

Who is leading the political debate right now? The President who had better things to do than produce his birth certificate, or the man who forced him to do it?

Trump isn't interested in becoming President, but I suspect he has a preferred candidate who may not even have declared yet. A new candidate can enter the ring without needing to say whether he is a birther or not. If i am right about Trump we will see a last minute candidate against whom Obama has little or no ammunition left, as it will have been wasted on Trump.

The Plot Thickens.

An intensive investigation has revealed the identity of the man whose Social Security number is being used by President Obama: Jean Paul Ludwig, who was born in France in 1890, emigrated to the United States in 1924, and was assigned SSN 042-68-4425 (Obama's current SSN) in or about March 1977. Ludwig lived most of his adult life in Connecticut.

Because of that, his SSN begins with the digits 042, which are among only a select few reserved for Connecticut residents. Obama never lived or worked in that state! Therefore, there is no reason on earth for his SSN to start with the digits 042. None whatsoever!

Now comes the best part! Ludwig spent the final months of his life in Hawaii, where he died. Conveniently, Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Payne Dunham, worked part-time in the Probate Office, in the Honolulu Hawaii Courthouse, and therefore had access to the SSNs of deceased individuals. The Social Security Administration was never informed of Ludwig's death, and because he never received Social Security benefits, there were no benefits to stop, and therefore, no questions were ever raised. The suspicion, of course, is that Dunham, knowing her grandson was not a U.S. citizen, either because he was born in Kenya or became a citizen of Indonesia upon his adoption by Lolo Soetoro, simply scoured the probate records until she found someone who died who was not receiving Social Security benefits, and selected Mr. Ludwig's Connecticut SSN for Obama.

Just wait until Trump gets past the birth certificate, and onto the issue of Barry O's use of a stolen SSN. You will see leftist heads exploding, because they will have no way of defending Obama. Although many Americans do not understand the meaning of the term "natural born," there are few who do not understand that if you are using someone else's SSN it is a clear indication of fraud.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said President Barack Obama's birth certificate is not authentic.

Arpaio revealed the findings of a investigation into the president's birth certificate at a 1 hour and 20 minute news conference Thursday, calling the certificate "suspect."

Arpaio's team of investigators said they found that the long-form birth certificate was created electronically and never existed in paper form.

The president's Selective Service card was also questioned.

Arpaio's investigators claimed the document has "failed every test we put it through."

At Thursday's news conference, investigators said they will request a criminal investigation. They also said they have identified a person of interest in the forgery of the birth certificate.

Arpaio said he is not accusing the president of the crime. He said they will investigate who is behind the "possible forgery and fraud."

"I haven't decided where to go with this yet," Arpaio said. "I just wanted to get the facts of this situation. We haven't accused anyone of anything."

The controversy over the certificate has been widely debunked, but it remains alive in the eyes of some conservatives, namely members of the Tea Party who urged Arpaio to look into the matter.

For the past six months, Arpaio's "Cold Case Posse" has been investigating the authenticity of those documents to see if there's been any fraud or forgery involved.

"We conducted a very professional investigation; we have come up with I feel some probable cause, some evidence," Arpaio said Wednesday.

Arpaio said the investigation was done at no cost to taxpayers.

"Just let me say the results may be interesting without using the word 'shocked,'" Arpaio said prior to the conference. "I think it will reveal some information no one else has really developed in a professional law enforcement manner."

The Cold Case Posse comprises volunteers who are former police officers and lawyers.

Arpaio is facing problems of his own, including a federal grand jury probe over alleged abuse of power and Justice Department accusations of racial profiling.

Probably the definitive quote on electoral politics anywhere. Given the GOP/ Monetarist dominance of US politics since Reagan- plus the devastating financial crisis of 2008, and since- what we are really seeing in the US is a swinging of the pendulum back the other way. It will then go too far (most probably), correct, and swing back t'other way again- but when? Not 2012, I wager.

The Democrats have become 'New Democrats' taking a leaf out of Blairs book. The only Republicans making any noise are the crusty old Bufty club that are too far right.

It's no contest really because there aren't many Republicans left in America.

Republicanism has changed a lot since the days of Ike, Reagan and even Bush snr (when the current dominant cabal, the 'Right wing' of the GOP, were derisively termed the loonies). Many if not most traditional Republicans are either in the Democrat camp (right wing or conservative end) or non-aligned these days.
