I don't like Angle's bent on certain issues, but I agree with this:

Sharron Angle who wants to privatize Social Security, abolish Medicare and replace it with vouchers, restore the prohibition of alcohol (in Nevada no less), eliminate the Departments of Education and Energy, and store the nation's nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, not too many miles from Las Vegas.

Eliminate. It's the only choid we have.

Socialism is the antithesis of the Tea Party movement.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read:

    1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
    2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3, The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
    4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
    5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

George W. Bush sits down with Sean Hannity and talks about the Tea Party Movement. Says it's Democracy working!

    Via Fox News -
The rise of the Tea Party movement shows “democracy works”, former President George W. Bush says in an interview to air Tuesday night on Fox News’ “Hannity.”
“Here’s what I see. I see democracy working. People are expressing a level of frustration or concern and they’re getting involved in the process,” Bush told Sean Hannity in advance of the release Tuesday of his memoir, “Decision Points.”
“And the truth of the matter is, democracy works in America,” Bush said.
    He gets it...

^^ The sad things about Mahar is that this is now mainstream.

Yes, mainstream: insults, put-downs, one-liners, and sound-bytes, capped off with a zinger.

Rationals discussion and debate: those days are long gone in American.

This is why I have tuned out.

    What a complete shock…
Two Michigan democrats were charged today with nine felonies for allegedly forging election paperwork to get fake Tea Party candidates on November’s ballot. One of the men is a top liberal blogger in Michigan.

Two former leaders of the Oakland County Democratic Party are facing a total of nine felonies for allegedly forging election paperwork to get fake Tea Party candidates on November’s ballot.

“It is not a partisan statement, and we need to make that very clear,” said Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper.
Former Oakland County Democratic Chair Mike McGuinness and former Democratic Operations Director Jason Bauer face up to 14 years in prison if convicted.
“Some of the people didn’t even know they were on the ballot till they began receiving delinquency notices of filings that were required as a candidate,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
The sheriff says 23 statewide races had questionable Tea Party candidates on the ballot and the investigation may go beyond Oakland County.
“It was learned that a scheme was developed by a party leader in Lansing to place on the ballot people pretending to be Tea Party activists and that this was going to be a statewide effort,” Bouchard said.
John Tramontana, a spokesperson for the state Democratic Party, told FOX 2 that this was not a state party issue and it’s not our place to comment.
Look for the Lamestream media to bury this story, eh?

Matt Taibbi nails it perfectly when summarizing the Tea Party in his new book 'Griftopia':

"Virtually all of the Tea Partiers (with the exception of the Ron Paul types...) have one thing in common: they've been encouraged into militancy by the very people they should be aiming their pitchforks at.

"A loose definition of the Tea Party might be 15 million pissed-off white people sent chasing after Mexicans on Medicaid by the small handful of banks and investment companies who advertise on Fox and CNBC."

(Taibbi rightly excludes Ron Paul from his analysis, as Rep. Paul is a civil libertarian who wants to end overseas wars and end the war on drugs.)

^ It says precisely nothing. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it, I mean how profound.

It is not social security, unions, government services or tax that has got the USA into the fiscal and unemployment hole it is in now. Neither is social security a collective 'entitlement'- it is plain and simply insurance, paid for and owned by the taxpayer. It is not 'owned' by the government, neither did the government pay for it- the people did, just as they paid to bail out the US banking system, and GM & Chrysler. The people of the US entrust the government with administering it for them, and frankly given the widespread assumption on the part of businessmen and right wing government administrators in the US that social security funds and pensions are somehow 'theirs' rather than the people that actually own it, I think legal steps should be taken to ring fence the peoples welfare insurance against these predators. They have proven unworthy of the Trust granted them.

It is an excess of debt, underfunded government, excessive deregulation leading to corporate malfeasance, and expensive, unfunded foreign wars that account for the current mess. Meaningless platitudes will do nothing to solve that, merely cater to the state of denial that a significant portion of the USA lives in. So of course, such propaganda is quite deliberate- and brought to you by the same folk that landed you in the financial crisis in the first place.

What it says is that it is a big morality play for these simpletons. They have neither the facts nor the understanding to use them if they had them. They are tools. Arguing with them is like arguing with a not particularly bright 10-year-old.

The tea party nutters are authoritarian followers, the worst kind of fools

critical thinking and truth is not part of their mentality, it's all about loyalty and following their herd

they are basically cattle, which is quite appropriate when you see the average size of those Americans conservatives

The teabaggers are getting a dose of reality. Had to happen :-

Compared to the Boehner who talked tough on spending ahead of last November's elections, the one who showed up at Club 55, just off Interstate 75 in Troy in southwestern Ohio, struck them as timid.

The private April 25 meeting was convened by the Speaker of the House of Representatives at the request of Tea Party leaders, who were seething over recent Republican compromises, most notably on the 2011 budget.

One of the 25 or so leaders, all from Boehner's district, asked him if Republicans would raise America's $14.3 trillion debt limit.

According to half a dozen attendees interviewed by Reuters, the most powerful Republican in Washington said "yes."

"And we're going to have to raise it again in the future," he added. With the mass retirement of America's Baby Boomers, he explained, it would take 20 years to balance the U.S. budget and 30 years after that to erase the nation's huge fiscal deficit.

.... "They certainly talked the talk before the election," said Tim Dake of the Wisconsin Grandsons of Liberty. "They told us what they knew we wanted to hear and sought us out."

After the election, not so much. "All of a sudden they stopped taking our calls and were no longer interested in what we had to say," Dake said.

... Just how bad is the divide between the Tea Party and the Republican establishment?

From- John Boehner Stuck Between Tea Party And A Hard Place

They make an inordinate amount of noise, but I will be surprised if they aren't a fading force- both ideologically and demographically.

On Monday Venetian Casino Resort, LLC. filed suit against Tea Party Nation Corporation of Franklin, TN for $642,144 in unpaid hotel bills and interest. According to a contract attached to the suit, Tea Party Nation agreed to pay the resort $579,148 in the event of a cancellation. The Palazzo alleges the group still owes $554,148, plus and 18 percent interest charge of $87,996.

Tea Party Nation had big plans for their 2010 summer convention: The neo-con org booked 1,637 room nights at the ritzy Palazzo Hotel at a cost of $554,148, with attendees checking in on Wednesday, July 14, and departing on Sunday, July 18.

Except no one was interested. Las Vegas in July? Puhleez. At the average cost of $339 per night, a registration fee of $399, and the convention’s speakers Laura Ingraham and Republican congressional candidate Sharron Angle? Boring! Only excursions to see Criss Angel and Carrot Top could have made that event any more dire.

Tea Party Nation organizers shifted the date to October, and then cancelled the whole event, skipping out on the bill. The February 2010 Tea Party Nation convention in Memphis featured Sarah Palin, but drew cries of profiteering. And Frank Ricotta, vice chair of the Clark County Republican Party and a former state director of Nevada Patriots, told the Las Vegas Review Journal at the time of the Vegas event’s cancellation:

    "They were kind of opportunistic."

FILTHY LIAR HARKIN Attacks Tea Party “Fringe Cult” – Blames GOP for Obama-Pelosi Debt

Senator Tom Harkin blames the GOP for the Obama-Pelosi spending – attacks the tea party “fringe cult.”

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) calls Republicans “dead-beat debtors” among other things during a Democratic press conference on Wednesday morning.
“The debate and fight is not between Democrats and Republicans. It’s between some Republicans and their sort of cult fringe as I refer to them out there,” Harkin said.
“Democrats are willing to do whatever is necessary to raise the debt ceiling, not for future borrowing but to pay the debts that we racked up in the past. Which, mostly was racked up by a Republican House, a Republican Senate and a Republican President in the last 8 years. Yet, they’re not willing to pay the bills,” Harkin said.
Once again… Here is the deficit chart the leftwing media will dare not show you:
Obama tripled the deficit his first year with the failed Obama-Pelosi stimulus plan.
In Obama’s second year the deficit topped a trillion dollars again.
    It was unprecedented.

The tea party arose as the brain child of the c**t brothers. It is far from a grass roots movement and it is further yet from a democratic institution. Most of it's members are motivated by an objection/rejection of the social change that has/is occurring. They support people who advocate libertarian ideas, ideas which have absolutely no basis in reality. It is driven by ideology and antidemocratic principles. They want change they want it now and seem willing to destroy anything or anyone that stands in their way.
It is as antidemocratic as any movement could possible be because it depends on powerful ideologues to press it forward.

Nice try Booners but 2009 was the last year of the Bush budget. A typical trick of
right wing propagandists trying to push that onto Obama's plate.

Well, he did let OBL get away when we had him in our sights but was too involved with a little spunk on a blue dress to take an active interest. So, in a way, you could say 9/11 was Bill's fault, eh?
