Huge Anti-Terrorism Raids in England

By Sher Zieve - Five police services and at least 500 officers throughout England conducted raids of suspected terrorists on Wednesday. The raids have, thus far, netted nine arrests of suspected terrorists.

The arrestees are suspected of planning attacks outside of the UK. CBC news reports that the arrests occurred in Manchester and Merseyside and raids in Birmingham and Middlesbrough are continuing.

Jointly organized by British Security’s MI5 and British police forces, the investigation is said to have been ongoing for months. When questioned, the police would only say that the raids would continue for the rest of the day.
