A plurality of Americans now say they are better off than they were when President Barack Obama was inaugurated, providing a surprising lift to Obama’s re- election campaign despite troublesome economic news.

Dr. Ann Dunham was a well travelled and respected (well, within sociological circles) academic. His is no 'ghetto kid', or 'mean streets', or 'rags to riches' story. Actually it sounds like he had quite an enviable upbringing, in several ways.

Doesn't change the fact that Frank Marshall Davis, a pro-Soviet Union communist (as was the official Barack Obama Senior), has been acknowledged as Obama’s adolescent mentor. Some theorize that their relationship was closer still. Davis was also a swinger and self-described bisexual who boastfully confessed to raping a 13-year-old. And this guy was Obama's 'father'. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, eh?
